3.3 Storing names and telephone 
numbers into the phonebook
The base unit and cordless handset provide a 
phonebook (50 items each).
LItems stored in the phonebook can be copied 
between the base unit and the cordless handset 
(page 24).
3.3.1 With the cordless handset

Chain dial feature
You can dial a combination of phonebook items during 
the same call. This feature is useful if for example, you 
want to dial a number, then enter a PIN. All items must 
be stored in the phonebook beforehand (page 22).

Base unit dial keys {1} to {9} can each be used as a one 
touch dial key, allowing you to dial a number from the 
base unit’s phonebook by simply pressing a dial key.

Caller ID
3.9 Caller ID service
This unit is compatible with the Caller ID service 
offered by your local telephone company. To use this 
unit’s Caller ID features, you must subscribe to a 
Caller ID service.
Make sure the following ring count is set to 2 or more 
rings beforehand.
– TAM ring count (feature #06 or feature 061 on page 
44) and FAX ring count (feature #06 on page 44)

Intercom calls can be made between the cordless 
handset and the base unit.
3.14.1 Making intercom calls
With the cordless handset

LThe base unit will beep (be paged) for 1 minute.
LTo stop paging, press {OFF}.
2When the paged party answers, talk into the 
cordless handset.
3To end the intercom call, press {OFF}.

4.1 Sending a fax manually
1Adjust the width of the document guides (1) to fit 
the actual size of the document.
2Insert the document (up to 10 pages) FACE DOWN 
until a single beep is heard and the unit grasps the 
document.
