111VQT3K35 Managing the copied disc ≥Connect this unit to the DVD burner and then touch [PLAY DISC]. ( l106) ∫ Formatting discs This is for initializing DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and +RW discs. Please be aware that if a disc is formatted, then all the data recorded on the disc will be erased. Back up important data on a PC etc. ≥When formatting is complete, touch [EXIT] to exit the message screen. ≥Connect this unit and the DVD burner to format discs. You may no longer be able to use the discs if you format them on another device such as a PC etc. ∫ Auto protect You can protect (write protect) a DVD-RAM disc when copying motion pictures in high definition picture quality or DVD-RW disc when copying motion pictures or still pictures in high definition picture quality to the disc. 1Select the menu. ≥If a disc that you copied to is inserted in another device without protecting it, a message may be displayed prompting you to format the disc. We recommend setting [AUTO PROTECT] to [ON] in order to prevent accidental deletion. 2Copy to the disc. ( l107) ≥After copying, the disc is write protected. 11 3VQT3K35 ∫To dub using equipment with an SD card slot You can dub by directly inserting an SD card. ∫To dub using equipment with a USB terminal You can dub by connecting a USB cable. ≥Use the AC adaptor to free you from worrying about the battery running down. ≥ Turn on the unit (This function is available in all modes). A USB cable (supplied) ≥ Insert the plugs as far as they will go. 1Connect the unit to the Blu-ray disc recorder or high-definition (AVCHD) compatible DVD recorder. ≥The USB function selection screen will appear on the screen of the unit. Dubbing in high-definition picture quality You can dub using a Panasonic Blu-ray disc recorder or high-definition (AVCHD) compatible DVD recorder. ≥Depending on the recorders or the media to be copied to, you may not be able to copy in high-definition (AVCHD) picture quality. Touch the screen to turn the LCD monitor on. 3Dubbing through operations on the Bl u-ray disc recorder or high- definition (AVCHD) compatible DVD recorder. ≥ Do not use any other USB cables except the supplied one. (Operation is not guaranteed with any other USB cables.) ≥ For details on dubbing and playback methods, read the operating instructions of the Blu-ray disc recorder or DVD recorder. ≥ When you connect the unit to a Blu-ray disc recorder, a dubbing operations screen may appear on the television connected to the Blu-ray disc recorder. 116VQT3K35 You can store 3D video with a DVD burner, a video device or a PC. ≥Please refer to page 105 for details about copying with a DVD burner. ∫ Copying unaltered as 3D video Recording format: [AVCHD] The scenes recorded in 3D using the unit can be copied and stored in unaltered form as 3D video.The video is recorded unaltered in side-by-side format. ∫Copying after conversion to 2D video Recording format: [Standard] ([XP]/[SP]) Scenes recorded in 3D are converted to 2D video before being copied and stored. In this case, 3D video cannot be stored in unaltered form. ≥A gray frame will appear around the thumbnail and image after a scene is converted to 2D. ∫ Dubbing in high-definition picture quality (Dubbing directly from inserted SD card/Dubbing with a USB cable) ≥Please refer to page 112 for details about dubbing in high-definition picture quality. When dubbing with high-definition (AVCHD) picture quality, you can store 3D video. The video is recorded unaltered in side-by-side format. ≥ If the dubbed video does not change to 3D video, make the necessary settings on the TV. 11 9VQT3K35 ≥It is possible to play back on a PC using a image viewer standard to Windows or commercially available image browsing software, and copy pictures to a PC using Windows Explorer. ≥ Please refer to page 130 for details about using a Mac. ≥Motion pictures that have been recorded on another device cannot be written to the software supplied with this unit. To write motion picture data recorded with the Panasonic High Definition Video Camera sold previously, use the HD Writer supplied with the unit. ≥ We cannot guarantee operation if you use software other than that supplied to read/write motion picture. ≥ Do not start the software supplied with this unit and other software at the same time. Close any other software if you start the software supplied with this unit and close the software supplied with this unit if you start any other software. ∫ About Conversion Assist Function When you want to convert the recording quality and write to media, the “Conversion Assist Function”, which is a linking function between this unit and the HD Writer AE 3.0, is activated by connecting this unit to the PC with the USB cable. When the “Conversion Assist Function” is used, it is possible to write to media faster than when operating only on PC. ≥Please refer to page 126 for details about the connection of this unit and a PC. ≥ Refer to the operating instructions of the software for details. The disc will not play back on devices that do not support the AVCHD format. ≥ When inserting a disc containing recorded motion pictures into other devices, a message prompting you to format the disc may be displayed. Article 2 Use by a Third Party Licensee may not use, copy, modify, transfer or allow any third party, whether free of charge or not, to use, copy or modify the Software, except as expressly provided for in this Agreement. Article 3 Restrictions on Copying the Software Licensee may make a single copy of the Software in whole or a part solely for back- up purposes. Article 4 Computer Licensee may use the Software only on one computer, and may not use it on more than one computer.Article 5 Reverse Engineering, Decompiling or Disassembly Licensee may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent either of them is permitted under law or regulation of the country where Licensee resides. Panasonic, or its distributors will not be responsible for any defects in the Software or damage to Licensee caused by Licensee’s reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembly of the Software. Article 6 Indemnification The Software is provided “AS-IS” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of non-infringement, merchantability and/or fitness for a particular purpose. Further, Panasonic does not warrant that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error free. Panasonic or any of its distributors will not be liable for any damage suffered by Licensee arising from or in connection with Licensee’s use of the Software. Article 7 Export Control Licensee agrees not to export or re-export to any country the Software in any form without the appropriate export licenses under regulations of the country where Licensee resides, if necessary. Article 8 Termination of License The right granted to Licensee hereunder will be automatically terminated if Licensee contravenes any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
