    attachment position.
    ≥ When the 3D Conversion Lens is attached, the auto slow shutter setting is [AUTO SLOW SHTR

    ≥ While 3D recording if moving the unit fast, the message is more likely to appear.
    ≥ The LCD monitor on this unit will not display in 3D.
    ≥ If the unit is turned on with the lens cap attached in the shade etc., the screen may appear to be 
    blue. In such a case, remove the lens cap to return the screen to normal.
    To ensure that the 3D image can be safely viewed, pay attention to the following points 
    when recording.

    Where possible, record with the unit in a horizontal state.
    ≥ Do not get too close to the subject. (Record from a distance of at least 1.2 m (3.9 feet).)
    ≥ When moving the unit as you record, move it slowly.
    ≥
    Try to hold the unit as steady as possible when recording while riding in a vehicle or walking.

    Connect the unit to a 3D compatible television using an HDMI mini cable (supplied) and play back 
    scenes or still pictures recorded in 3D to enjoy lifelike and powerful 3D full high-definition images.
    ≥3D full high-definition image can be enjoyed by playing back the image recorded in AVCHD 3D on 
    a 3D compatible TV that is compatible with the frame sequential format.
    ≥ The picture quality of side-by-side format 3D image is different from the 3D full high-definition 
    images.
    ¬ Change the mode to   and touch the play mode select icon. Then, set to 
    [ALL AVCHD], [AVCHD 3D], [SbS 3D] or  . ( l29)
    ≥When [ALL AVCHD] is selected,   (Blue) is displayed in the thumbnail display at playback for 
    the scenes recorded in AVCHD 3D,   is displayed in the thumbnail display at playback for the

    display at playback for the still pictures recorded in 3D.

    ≥ If you feel tired, uncomfortable or otherwise strange when viewing scenes recorded in 
    3D, set to [2D].

    ≥The recording screen for 3D Recording Mode can be displayed in 3D on a 3D-compatible 
    TV when the 3D Conversion Lens (optional) is attached to this unit.
    ≥ You cannot play back 3D image on the LCD monitor of the unit. When you play back scenes 
    recorded in 3D on the LCD monitor, they will be played back in 2D.
    ≥ If your television does not switch to a 3D image, make the necessary settings on the TV. (For 
    further details, please read the operating instructions for the TV.)
    ≥ It will be played back in 2D display for following cases:
    jConnect the AV cable to the video terminal of the TV
    ≥ You can also play back scenes recorded in 3D by date. Even if scenes are recorded on the same 
    day, the unit will display the date separately when switching between 2D and 3D recordings.

    ≥ When you play back scenes successively, a black screen will appear for a few seconds between 
    scenes recorded in 3D and scenes recorded in 2D.
    ≥ When you select a 3D image thumbnail, it may take a few seconds for playback to start. After 
    playback, the thumbnail display may take a few seconds to reappear.
    ≥ If you connect with the AV cable (supplied) to a television that does not support 3D, the image will 
    be played back in 2 screens.
    ≥ Depending on the 3D-compatible television used, switching to 3D mode may be slow and you 
    may not be able to watch the first scene. In this case, use the pause button.
    ≥ When viewing 3D image, your eyes may become tired if you are too close to the television 
    screen.
    Adjusting 3D effect of the 3D image
    You can adjust the scene or picture you are playing back to a more eye-friendly one. 1 Play back scenes or still pictures recorded in 3D.

    ≥While maintaining the 3D display, the screen displays the 3D 
    depth adjustment bar.
    3 Touch  /  to adjust setting.≥The 3D depth adjustment bar will disappear after approx. 
    5 seconds without any touch operation.
    ≥The setting is canceled in following cases:
    jIf you stop playback
    j If you turn the unit off
    j If you change the mode
    ≥ Stop the operation when you feel fatigue, discomfort, or otherwise strange while 
    playing back or adjusting.

    You can connect this unit to 3D compatible TV, convert the scene/still picture recorded in 2D 
    (conventional image) to 3D and play back.
    ¬Change the mode to   and touch the play mode select icon. Then, select 
    the AVCHD scene or set to  . ( l29)

    ≥ Setting for the [3D PLAYBACK] is not possible when [CONV. 2D TO 3D] is set to [ON].
    ≥ [CONV. 2D TO 3D] setting takes priority regardless of the [3D PLAYBACK] setting.
    ≥ Highlight Playback cannot be converted to 3D image.
    ≥ Scenes/still pictures converted to 3D images cannot be saved as 3D images.

    You can store 3D image with a USB HDD, a video device or a PC.
    ≥Please refer to page 11 8  for details about copying with a USB HDD.
    You can copy and save the scenes recorded with this unit in 3D while maintaining the recorded 
    image quality and 3D effect.
    ∫ Dubbing in high-definition picture quality
    ≥Please refer to page 123 for details about dubbing in high-definition picture quality.
    3D full high-definition image can be saved by dubbing the scenes recorded in the recording mode 
    [AVCHD 3D] to AVCHD 3D compatible device in high-definition picture quality (AVCHD).
    ≥If the dubbed motion picture does not change to 3D motion picture, make the necessary settings 
    on the TV. (For further details, please read the operating instructions for the TV.)
    ≥ It may not be possible to copy 3D still pictures (MPO format) depending on the recorder being 
    used.

    About dubbing of scenes recorded in 3D
    ≥The scenes recorded in [AVCHD 3D] can be dubbed to a Blu-ray disc as 3D image only using 
    the AVCHD 3D compatible devices. The scenes recorded in 3D can also be dubbed to the 
    AVCHD compatible products, but it will be stored as a high-definition 2D image.

    ≥Select [VIDEO] >  [SELECT SCENES] or [SELECT DATE]  > [AVCHD 3D] or [SbS 3D].
    ≥ When selecting scenes, select ones marked with   (Blue) or   on the thumbnail display.
    ≥ When selecting by date, select a date marked with   (Blue) or   from the list of dates.
    ≥ Please refer to page 168 for details about copying with HD Writer AE 5.0.
    When you use HD Writer AE 5.0 to handle scenes recorded in 3D, the following operations are

    You can copy the motion/still picture data to the HDD of PCs or write to media like Blu-ray discs, 
    DVD discs or SD cards using HD Writer AE 5.0, the software installed in the supplied CD-ROM.
    Refer to the operating instructions of HD Writer AE 5.0 (PDF file) for details on how to use it.

    The Smart Wizard Screen is automatically displayed when you connect this unit to a PC with 
    HD Writer AE 5.0 installed. ( l175 )

    You can copy motion/still picture data to the HDD of PCs.
    Copy to disc:
    You can copy to disc in high-definition picture quality or conventional standard picture quality 
    (MPEG2 format).
    ≥ Select the function you wish to use and follow the on-screen instructions for easy copying.

    Explorer.

    ≥It is impossible to write data to this unit from a PC.
    ≥ Motion pictures that have been recorded on another device cannot be written to the 
    software supplied with this unit. To write motion picture data recorded with the Panasonic 
    High Definition Video Camera sold previously, use the HD Writer supplied with the unit.
    ≥ When motion picture data is written to and read from the SD card, correct operation of the unit 
    cannot be guaranteed if software other than supplied with the unit is used.
    ≥ Do not start the software supplied with this unit and other software at the same time.
    ∫ About Conversion Assist Function
    When you want to convert the recording quality and write to media, the “Conversion Assist 
    Function”, which is a linking function between this  unit and the HD Writer AE 5.0, is activated by 
    connecting this unit to the PC with the USB cable. When the “Conversion Assist Function” is used, it 
    is possible to write to media faster than when operating only on PC.
    ≥ Please refer to page 175 for details about the connection of this unit and a PC.
    ≥ Refer to the operating instructions of the software for details. ( l178 )
    Playing back on a PC:
    Play back the motion picture data in high-definition picture quality on a PC.Motion picture 
    and still picture
    Formatting discs:
    Depending on the type of disc that you use, formatting is necessary. Motion picture
    Important Notice≥
    When using an SDXC Memory Card, check the following support site.http://panasonic.net/avc/sdcard/information/SDXC.html≥Do not insert a disc recorded in AVCHD format with HD Writer AE 5.0 in a device that 
    does not support the AVCHD format. In some cases the disc may get stuck in the 
    device.
    ≥ To play back a Blu-ray disc to which you have copied scenes recorded in AVCHD 3D or 
    1080/60p, equipment is required that supports AVCHD 3D and AVCHD Progressive.
    ≥ When inserting a disc containing recorded motion pictures into other devices, a 
    message prompting you to format the disc may be displayed. Do not format the disc, 
    since deleted data cannot be restored later.

    End User License Agreement
    Before opening the CD-ROM package, please read the following.
    You (“Licensee”) are granted a license for the 
    Software defined in this End User License 
    Agreement (“Agreement”) on condition that you 
    agree to the terms and conditions of this 
    Agreement.
    Article 1 License
    Licensee is granted the right to use the 
    software, including the information recorded or 
    described on the CD-ROM, instruction manuals, 
    and any other media provided to Licensee 
    (collectively “Software”), but all applicable rights 
    to patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade 
    secrets in the Software are not transferred to 
    Licensee.
    Article 2 Use by a Third Party
    Licensee may not use, copy, modify, transfer, 
    rent, lease, lend or allow any third party, 
    whether free of charge or not, to use, copy or 
    modify the Software, except as expressly 
    provided for in this Agreement.
    Article 3 Restrictions on Copying the Software
    Licensee may make a single copy of the 
    Software in whole or a part solely for back-up 
    purpose.
    Article 4 Computer
    Licensee may use the Software only on one 
    computer, and may not use it on more than one 
    computer. Further, Licensee may not use the 
    Software for commercial software hosting 
    services.
    Article 5 Reverse Engineering, Decompiling or 
    Disassembly
    Licensee may not reverse engineer, decompile, 
    or disassemble the Software, except to the 
    extent either of them is permitted under law or 
    regulation of the country where Licensee 
    resides. Panasonic, or its distributors will not be 
    responsible for any defects in the Software or 
    damage to Licensee caused by Licensee’s 
    reverse engineering, decompiling, or 
    disassembly of the Software.
    Article 6 Indemnification
    The Software is provided “AS-IS” without 
    warranty of any kind, either expressed or 
    implied, including, but not limited to, warranties 
    of non-infringement, merchantability and/or 
    fitness for a particular purpose. Further, 
    Panasonic does not warrant that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error 
    free. Panasonic or any of its distributors will not 
    be liable for any damage suffered by Licensee 
    arising from or in connection with Licensee’s 
    use of the Software.
    Article 7 Export Control
    Licensee agrees not to export or re-export to 
    any country the Software in any form without 
    the appropriate export licenses under 
    regulations of the country where Licensee 
    resides, if necessary.
    Article 8 Termination of License
    The right granted to Licensee hereunder will be 
    automatically terminated if Licensee 
    contravenes any of the terms and conditions of 
    this Agreement. In this event, Licensee must 
    destroy the Software and related 
    documentation together with all the copies 
    thereof at Licensee’s own expense.
    Article 9 With regard to MICROSOFT SQL 
    SERVER COMPACT 3.5 produced by Microsoft 
    Corporation
    (1) Licensee shall use the MICROSOFT SQL 
    SERVER COMPACT 3.5 only when included in 
    the Software, and shall not use the 
    MICROSOFT SQL SERVER COMPACT 3.5 in 
    any other configuration or method. Licensee 
    shall not publish the MICROSOFT SQL 
    SERVER COMPACT 3.5 or work around any 
    technical limitations in the MICROSOFT SQL 
    SERVER COMPACT 3.5.
    (2) Licensee shall not use, copy, distribute, 
    regrant for use or otherwise handle the 
    Software in any way beyond the range of use 
    granted under Article 9 (1), and shall not 
    conduct operations such as reverse 
    engineering, decompilation, disassembling, etc. 
    of the MICROSOFT SQL SERVER COMPACT 
    3.5.
    (3) All rights, including copyright, patent rights 
    etc. relating to the MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 
    COMPACT 3.5 shall belong to Microsoft 
    Corporation. Licensee shall not claim any rights 
    related to the MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 
    COMPACT 3.5 whatsoever.
