∫ The available flash range (approximation)
When you use certain lenses, light from the flash may be 
blocked or fail to cover the lens field of view, causing dark 
areas to appear in the resulting pictures.
The distance at which light from the flash is blocked by lens, and 
the distance to which light from  the flash is delivered vary 
depending on the lens used.
•
The ranges are those of when the ISO sensitivity is set to [AUTO] and [ISO Limit Set]  (P133) is 
set to [OFF].

Setting the Flash Functions
Select whether to set the flash output automatically or manually.1Select the menu.  (P54)
2Press 3/4  to select the item and then press [MENU/SET].

When [MANUAL] is set, the luminosity ratio ([1/1], etc.) is displayed on the flash icon on the 
screen.

The flash is activated twice.
The interval between the first and second flash is longer when [ ] or [ ] is 
set. The subject should not move until the second flash is activated.

The Red-Eye Reduction effect differs between peo ple. Also, if the subject was far away from 
the camera or was not looking at the first flash, the effect may not be evident.

The available flash settings depend on the Recording Mode.

Adjust the flash brightness when pictures  taken with the flash are over or underexposed.

2Press 2/1  to set the flash output and then press [MENU/SET] .
•You can adjust from [ j3 EV] to [i3 EV] in steps of 1/3 EV.•Select [ n0] to return to the original flash output.

Taking Pictures with Wireless Flashes
By using flashes that support the wireles s control (DMW-FL360L, DMW-FL580L: optional), 
you can control firing of the built-in flash (or  a flash attached to the hot shoe of this unit) 
and three flash groups separately.
1Set the wireless flashes to RC Mode and then place them.
•Set a channel and groups for the wireless flash.
2Press the flash button to open the built-in flash or attach a flash 
(DMW-FL360L or DMW-FL580L: optional) to the camera....

5Press  3/4 to select [Wireless Channel] and then press [MENU/SET].
6Press  3/4 to select the channel and then press [MENU/SET].
