English-8English-9 Preparation IMPORTANT: Do not apply pressure to the screen display area which may compromise the integrity of the display. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover user abuse or improper installations. PREPARING YOUR LCD DISPLAY FOR WALL MOUNTING We suggest that you keep your display at least 2.36 inches (60 mm) from the wall to prevent cable interference. Before mounting your display on the wall, you need to remove the base. For your safety, please use only with UL listed wall mount bracket with minimum weight of the display without stand. (Please see page.23/25.) To attach a wall mount bracket to your display: 1. Loosen the screws on the back of the stand and remove the back cover of the stand. 2. Pull up the stand base from the hinge to remove the stand base from your display. 3. English-8English-9 English 3. Remote control: Remove the cover of the battery compartment. Insert the 2 batteries supplied (Type AAA 1.5V). 4. Power cord installation • The equipment should be installed close to an easily accessible power outlet. • Fully insert the prongs into the power outlet socket. A loose connection may cause image degradation. If there is power to the display the front LED at the bottom of the display will be either blue or red. A blue LED means the display is powered on. A red LED means the display is in standby mode. 5. Power: Press the power key on the remote control or press the power button located on the side of the display. The display will power on. Please make sure to connect the power plug to the wall outlet socket after connecting the display to the power cord! 1. Install the base stand; place the display on a solid surface. Ensure that the display is placed in a position to allow free flow of air. Do not cover the ventilation openings on the back cover. Do not place the display near any open flames such as a lighted candle or other exposed flame sources. Avoid heat, direct sunlight and exposure to rain or water. Do not expose the equipment to any liquid. 2. Connect the antenna cable or CATV cable to the aerial socket ANT IN 75Ω at the back of the display. English-10English-11 Source Connection Guide 1. HDMI – Connect the primary source for digital video such as a DVD multimedia player or set top box through this all digital connector. The white color band on the rear of the display indicates this connection. 2. PC IN – Connect the video and audio cables from a computer here. 3. AV IN (AV/S-VIDEO) – Connect the primary source for composite video devices, such as a VCR or video game. Use the white and red connectors to connect the external audio from the same source. The signal being carried by the S-Video cable and connector, if connected, will take priority over the Video RCA connector (yellow connector). 4. COMPONENT (Y/Pb/Pr with Audio L/R) – Connect the primary source for component video devices such as a DVD Player or set top box here. From left to right, use red for Pr, blue for Pb, green for Y, red for right audio (R) and white for left audio (L) inputs. 5. ANTENNA/CABLE DIGITAL/ANALOG – Connect to an antenna or digital cable (out of-the-wall, not from Cable Box) for the digital tuner. 6. SPDIF (Optical Digital Audio Out) – When a digital audio signal is associated with the input selected for viewing, the digital audio will be available on this SPDIF connection to your home theater system. 7. AUDIO OUT – Connect an external sound system with standard audio cable to the AUDIO OUT L and R jacks on the back of your display and to the AUDIO IN jacks on the amplifier. (ex: Press COMP button to select “Component” if you have connected a source to the Component input.)

CH CH +: Press to select the next higher channel number. 4. CH CH - : Press to select the next lower channel number. 5. MENU Menu key: Press to open or exit the OSD (on-screen display) menu. 6. SOURCE Source key: Press to select the input source. 7. I Power key: Press to turn on / off (standby) the display (Press to turn on display after the power on status, LED had changed to the Blue color and stopped flashing.) SOURCE/ INPUT

Sleep Press to set a time period (off /5 min /10 min /15 min /30 min /45 min /60 min /90 min /120 min /180 min / 240 min) after which the display should switch itself to standby mode. Freeze Press to freeze the displayed picture. English-14English-15 NAVIGATING THE ON-SCREEN MENU 1. Press the MENU/EXIT button to display or close the main menu 2. Use the Navigation Ring to navigate, select, adjust or confirm an item on the OSD (On Screen Display) menu. Press the MENU/EXIT button to enter/exit the main OSD. Adjust the items including Video, Audio , Feature, Channel and VGA menus. Note: some features may only be available in a particular source mode. VIDEO MENU The Video menu in most source modes is shown below. It provides several video adjustment items for the video display. In VGA source mode, the Video menu only provides Picture Mode, Color Temp, Backlight, Aspect Ratio and Preset . 1. Picture Mode: Adjust the picture appearance by choosing one of the preset picture modes: Vivid, Standard, PWR, Theater, Sport, or Custom. 2. Brightness: Control the display brightness from, 0 ~ 100. 3. Contrast: Control the display contrast from 0 ~ 100. 4. Sharpness: Control the display sharpness from 0 ~ 100. 5. Color: Control the video chroma from 0 ~ 100. 6. Tint: Control the tint range from R50 ~ G50. 7. Color Temp: Three color temperature modes. (Normal / Warm / Cool) 8. Backlight: Adjust the backlight strength from 0 ~ 30.
English-14English-15 English NAVIGATING THE ON-SCREEN MENU9. Aspect Ratio: Adjust the aspect ration by choosing : Standard/Fill/Overscan. 10. Preset: Restores the default video settings. AUDIO MENU The Audio menu in TV mode is shown below. It provides an audio adjustment for the user to modify the audio setting. Audio language setting is only available with ATSC tuner source. The option is disabled under other source modes. 1. Sound Mode: Adjust the sound mode by choosing one of the preset sound modes: Standard, Movie, News, or Custom. 2. Bass: Control the bass tone from 0 ~ 63. (The default state is enabled) 3. Treble: Control the treble tone from 0 ~ 63. (The default state is enabled) 4. Balance: Audio balance adjustment, the tuning range is L50 ~ R50. 5. Audio Source: Select the audio source from Mono, Stereo, or SAP. (This function works in ATV only). 6. Audio Language: Change the audio language setting on ATSC tuner programs. The number of the supported audio languages depends on the ATSC tuner programs. (English / Français / Español) 7. SPDIF: Digital audio output format. Select from RAW and PCM.
English-16English-17 8. Speaker: Choose to turn on / off the displays internal speaker. The digital audio output signals and earphone output signals will not be turned off even though the display speaker is off. The default setting is On. 9. AVL: Choose On or off to adjust volume to be consistent across programs and channels automatically. 10. Preset: Restore the default audio settings. FEATURE MENU The Feature menu in TV modeis shown below. According to the various requirements in different source modes, certain features should be hidden (disabled) on the menu. 1. Menu Language: Select the menu display language. (English / Français / Español) 2. Time: Set current time. The sub-menu includes Time Mode, Time Zone and Daylight Savings. [Time Mode] – Choose from Auto or Manual. [Time Zone] – Set current time zone. [Daylight Savings] – Set to On or Off. English-16English-17 English 3. Advanced Video: Gives the option for Noise Reduction, Adaptive Contrast, and DCR to enhancing the video quality. [Noise Reduction] – Gives four NR effect degrees, such as: Low, Mid, High and Off. The default setting is Mid. [Adaptive Contrast] – Choose On or Off to adjust the gamma after the input signal has been automatically analyzed. [DCR] – Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR) automatically adjusts the backlight of the screen. [Preset] – Restores the default advanced video option settings. 4. Transparency: Adjust the transparency of the on-screen menu from range 1 to 10. 5. Password Setting: Change the 4-numeral parental control password. Three steps are required for changing the password: Enter Old Password -> Enter New Password -> Confirm New Password. Note: This item is only available when the tuner is being used, Composite and S-Video source modes. The default password is 0 0 0 0. 6. Parental Control: provides the parental Control (V-chip) function setting. Before entering the Parental Control sub-menu, user must key in the password first. Enabling the Parental Locks feature enables the user to modify the restriction table as it relates to MPAA or TV ratings respectively. Once the user adjust and exits the sub menu the parental control function is active. The restricted channels or source signals can be un-locked by pressing the V-CHIP key on the remote control and then enter in the correct password. Note: This feature is only available in TV, Composite and S-Video source modes
