Charging a Battery Installed in the Workabout Pro4
• Insert the DC power cable to th e DC IN socket on the single bay USB cradle. Plug the pronged end of the 
cable into an AC outlet.
• Slide the hand-held into the cr adle, making certain that the LIF (Low Insertion Force) port on base of the 
Workabout Pro4 is securely seated on the cradle connector pins.  An icon is displayed briefly in the naviga-

Linking a Workabout Pro4 to a PC
The desktop single bay USB cradle can be connected to a PC so t hat you can exchange files in the same way 
that you would between PC drive s. A USB cable is included with your single bay USB cradle.
To link the Workabout Pro4 to a PC:
• Insert the hand-held in the single bay USB cradle.
• Insert the USB cable into the cradle Client USB connector. Att ach the other end of the cable to a USB port 
on the PC.

The four bay Ethernet Cradle permits each of four docked Workabout Pro4s to communi cate with a 10/100 
BaseT Ethernet network at greate r than 2Mbps. It also provides sufficient power to operate and fast charge the 
batteries in the units.

Charge Indicators – The LEDs
Each battery charge we ll is equipped with an LED to indicate th e charge status of the b attery. When a battery
