Cooking Remove any accessories from the oven that you do not require for cooking. Pre-heat the oven only if instructed to do so in the recipe or the cooking chart. Using residual heat The temperature in cooking programmes using temperatures above 140 °C which take longer than 30 minutes to cook can be turned down to the lowest possible temperature about 5 minutes before the end of cooking in order to make use of residual heat. Using the minute minder The minute minder can be used to time other activities in the kitchen, e. g. boiling eggs.
