Error Cause Solution Items show signs of corrosion. The chloride content of the water is too high.Test your water composition. If needed, condition the water externally and use demineralized water. Temperature sensor The washer-disinfector is equipped with a (re-settable) temperature sensor that switches off the heater when it threatens to overheat. Overheating can occur when, for example, large items cover the heating elements or if the filters in the wash cabinet are blocked. If the display shows any of the following fault messages:F01 - F03,F18,F19 (the water in the wash cabinet does not get hot; the program sequence lasts too long) take the following steps: ^Remove the underlying cause. ^Remove the service panel. ^Press the re-set button for the ther- mostat on the right side of the plinth. If the thermostat is triggered again, please contact Miele Customer Ser- vice without delay. Correcting faults 57
Cleaning the non-return valve and drain pump If you find that water has not been pumped away at the end of a program, the drain pump or non-return valve may be blocked. You can remove the blockage yourself. ^Remove the filter combination from the wash cabinet. ^ Flip the fastening clamp to the side. ^ Pull the non-return valve up and out and rinse it under running water. ,Caution: Use proper eye protection when removing the non-return valve. The drain pump is located beneath the non-return valve (see arrow). ^Before putting the non-return valve back into place, check that the drain pump is not blocked. ^Carefully put the non-return valve back into place and close the fastening clamp. For safety reasons, the load should be washed again. Correcting faults 58
Cleaning the filter in the water inlet There are filters in the screw connection of the water inlet hose to protect the water inlet valve. When the filters become dirty, they need to be cleaned so that enough water can flow into the wash cabinet. ,The plastic housing of the water connection contains an electrical component. It must NOT be submerged in water.Cleaning the filter ^Disconnect from the power supply. ^Turn off the water supply and unscrew the water inlet hose. ^Clean the large area filter (1) and fine filter (2) and replace with new filters if needed. ^Put the filter and seal back into place and make sure they are sitting correctly. ^ Reconnect the water inlet valve to the water valve, making sure it goes on straight. ^ Slightly open the water tap. If there is a leak, check that the connection is on straight and tight enough. ^ Straighten it to sit correctly, then tighten and test again. Correcting faults 59
If a fault occurs and cannot be corrected using these Operating Instructions, please contact Miele Technical Service. ^When contacting the Service department, you will need to quote the model and serial numberof your appliance.
