    							Liquid option
    As a separate option, this machine can
    be fitted with a dispenser pump for
    automatic liquid detergent dispensing
    (DOS Module K 60). This is connected
    externally.
    The optional DOS Module K 60 is
    supplied with its own installation and
    connection instructions.
    The liquid detergent is automatically
    dispensed in the wash step of the
    program.
    ^Place the container of detergent next
    to the machine.
    See "Programming functions" to prime
    the dispensing system and set the
    dispensing amount.
    When using liquid detergent the
    optional DOS Module K 60 must be
    used.
    Refilling the liquid detergent
    Replace the current detergent
    container with a full one.
    ^
    The indicator light should turn off.
    ^
    If the container has been allowed to
    run dry, the light will not go out until
    the priming process has been
    performed.
    Always follow the detergent
    manufacturer's recommendations for
    dosage concentration.

    							How to switch on
    ^Close the door.
    ^Press the "ON/OFF" button.
    A dot will appear in the display when
    the program selector is at the
    12 o'clockfposition.
    Starting a program
    Always choose a program to match the
    type and soiling level of the washload.
    See theprogram guidefor a
    description of the various programs
    available.
    ^Turn the program selector left or right
    to the desired program.
    The temperature of the first wash for the
    program selected will show in the
    display, except for the "Rinse" and
    "Drain" programs.
    The indicator next to the "Start"6
    button will flash.Select the additional Drying feature
    0
    Immediately once a program has been
    selected, "Drying" can be selected as
    an additional feature, except in the
    "Rinse" and "Drain" programs.
    To do so:
    ^Press the "Drying"0button.
    The drying program is timed to run for
    10 min. The total program time is
    extended accordingly.
    ^Press the "Start"6button.
    The current program status will appear
    in the display and the indicator light
    next to the "Drain" button will come on.
    During the running of the program, all
    other programs are blocked.
    If the program selector is turned to
    another program, the display goes out.
    Once the program selector is returned
    to the currently running program, the
    display will show the current
    information.
    Operating the machine

    							While the program is running, any of the
    following displays can be selected:
    –Actual temperature,
    –Elapsed program time and
    –Active wash block.
    ^Press the "Display"ßbutton to
    toggle between the displays.
    Progress indicator
    The indicator light for the active program
    is lit while the program is running:
    Recharging
    Pre-Wash1+2
    Wash1+2*
    Rinse1-4/
    Final rinse1+2
    Dry
    Complete (program parameters
    achieved)
    End of program
    A program is completed when the
    indicator light "Complete", in the
    progress display, is lit and the indicator
    light "Start"6goes out. A0will appear
    in the middle of the display and all
    other indicators will come on and go
    out in sequence.
    Simultaneously, a buzzer will sound for
    approx. 30 seconds (standard setting).
    The buzzer function can be changed
    (see "Programming special functions").
    Use the "Display"ßbutton to view the
    total running time or current actual
    temperature of a program.
    As soon as a program ends, the
    machine door should be opened
    approx. 10 cm for 10 - 15 min. By
    waiting to unload the machine, you will
    be using the residual heat to help
    obtain better drying results and resist
    corrosion.

    							How to switch off
    ^Press the "ON/OFF" button and let it
    pop up.
    The door is equipped with an
    electric lock and can only be
    opened if the "ON/OFF" switch is
    pressed (see "Opening and closing
    the door").
    How to cancel a program
    Avoid cancelling a running program
    unless absolutely necessary, for
    example, if an item is moving around
    excessively or the wrong program has
    been selected.
    ^Turn the program selector to the
    12 o'clock positionf.
    The program is cancelled after approx.
    2 seconds.
    ^Open the door
    ,Exercise extreme caution as
    items in the machine may be hot.
    Caution - danger of scalding and
    burns.^Arrange items in a stable fashion,
    take all necessary infection control
    measures and wear gloves.
    ^If required, replenish powder
    detergent.
    ^Close the door.
    ^Start the program "Drain".
    The water will be pumped away.
    ^Re-select the program, "Drying"0if
    desired, and press the "Start"6
    button.

    							For future servicing, be sure to document any changes made to the standard
    factory settings.
    Enter the information in the field(s) provided.
    General information:
    –Program selector positions that have no assigned function are represented by a
    bar (-) in the middle of the display.
    –To call up the programming level, use the 12 o'clock positionf.
    The statusE..will appear in the display.
    –Any program or dosing changes in connection with the preparation of medical
    devices must be documented. In such cases, the washer-disinfector results
    (cleaning and/or disinfection) will need to be re-validated.
    The following instructions apply to all programming functions:
    Activate the programming mode
    ^Turn the program selector to the
    12 o'clock positionf.
    ^Turn off the machine.
    ^Simultaneouslypress and hold the
    "Display"ßand "Start"6buttons,
    while turning on the machine by
    pressing the "ON/OFF" button.The current program statusP..appears
    in the display. The "Fill/Drain" indicator
    lights up.
    Saving to memory and exiting the programming mode
    ^
    Press the "Start"6button.
    SPappears in the display.
    ^
    Press the "Start"6button again.
    The change will now be stored in the
    memory.
    Exiting the programming mode without saving
    ^
    Use the "ON/OFF" button to turn off
    the washer-disinfector.The change is discarded.

    							DOS 1 dispensing (detergent)
    Setting the liquid detergent dispensing concentration
    The dispensing concentration only needs to be set for liquid detergents. Set
    the concentration according to the detergent manufacturer's
    recommendations. Do NOT change the setting if you are using powder
    detergent in the door dispenser.
    Step Display / Result
    ^Activate the programming mode as
    per page 35.
    ^Press the "Drying"0button until E02
    appears in the display.E02
    ^Turn the program selector to the
    "Wash" program.
    Without DOS Module?
    With DOS Module?10= 10 sec dispensing time
    1.00= 1.0 % dispensing concentration
    ^Press or hold down the "Display"ß
    button until the desired value appears
    in the display, e.g., 0.50.0.50
    The dispensing time / dispensing
    concentration is now set.
    ^Save to memory and exit programming
    mode as per page 35.

    							Priming the liquid detergent dispensing system
    The dispensing system does not need to be primed (cleared of air) unless:
    – the dispensing concentration is being set for the first time,
    – the liquid detergent container was not refilled in time and became completely
    empty.
    Step Display / Result
    ^Activate the programming mode as per
    page 35.
    ^Press the "Drying"0button until E02
    appears in the display.E02
    ^Turn the program selector to the 1 o'clock
    position.d§1
    ^Press the "Display"ßbutton.
    The dispensing system will be
    primed automatically. Priming is
    complete when0appears in the
    display.
    ^Save to memory and exit programming
    mode as per page 35.
    ^Select the "Rinse" program and "Start"6
    button to run a rinse cycle.This will rinse away any agents that
    entered the wash cabinet after
    priming.

    							DOS 3 dispensing (neutralizer)
    Setting the neutralizer concentration
    Set the neutralizer dispensing concentration according to the manufacturer's
    recommendations or to meet specific requirements.
    Step Display / Result
    ^Activate the programming mode as per
    page 35.
    ^Press the "Drying"0button until E02
    appears in the display.E02
    ^Set the program selector to the 6 o'clock
    position.The programmed dispensing
    concentration appears in the
    display,
    e.g.,0.10= 0.10 %
    ^Press or hold down the "Display"ß
    button until the required value appears in
    the display, e.g., 0.20.0.20
    The dispensing concentration is
    now set.
    ^Save to memory and exit programming

    							Buzzer
    The buzzer can be programmed for the following functions:
    – Program end = Constant buzzer,
    – Fault warning = Buzzer at 1-second intervals, and
    – Sample-collection signal = sets of 3 short beeps followed by a 2-sec pause.
    Contact Miele Customer Service to program the sample-collection signal.
    The numbers shown in the display correspond to the following settings:

    Value selected:
    The buzzer will sound for 30 sec at the value selected.
    To switch it off earlier:
    –
    Turn the program selector to the 12 o'clock positionf.
    –
    Press the "Display"ßbutton.
    –
    Interrupt the power supply, e.g., open the door.
