Follow these steps to start the Password Manager:
1. To start the Password Manager Program, double-click the
Security icon. The main Password Manager window appears
(see Figure 2-2).

2. Select Com Port from the Com Link menu. The Port Selection
window appears (see Figure 2-3). The currently programmed
comm port is indicated by a black dot in the option button next
to the selection.

3. Point to the Com Port to which the Extender Rack is connected
(Com Port 1, Com Port 2, Com Port 3 or Com Port 4), and click
the left mouse button to select the correct communications port.
You can also type the number of the comm port. For example,
to select Com Port 2, type 2 and a black dot appears in the
option button next to your choice . If you prefer, you can use the

Programming Remote User Passwords
Up to 100 passwords can be programmed into each Rack-Mount
Switch Module installed in the Extender Rack. This allows a
number of different remote users to access each individual Rack-
Mount Switch Module at different times. However, only one Remote
Module user can be connected to an individual Rack-Mount Switch
Module at any one time.

lines, most liable to toll fraud. Passwords should be as long
as allowed. Passwords should be hard to guess and
therefore should not contain:
nall the same numbers (for example, 88888888)
nsequential characters (for example, 987654321)
ncharacter strings associated with you or with the remote

select Sort by Name from Sort Options under the Sort menu.
Then select Sort from the Sort menu.
To view the information in numerical order by user ID, select
