31Connecting to Networks and Devices 1. On the Home screen, touch > SmartShare . 2. Touch the Player icon and select the device from the renderer device list. 3. Touch the Library icon and select the device of the remote content library. 4. Yo u can browse the content library. 5. Touch and hold a content thumbnail and touch Play or touch the Menu Key > Play. To share contents from your phone to your renderer device(e.g. TV) noTE Make sure that your renderer device is properly configured. 1. While playing your music using the Music application, touch tab / at the top of the screen. : Select the device on network. : Currently, the content is being shared through SmartShare. 2. Select the device from renderer lists to play the files. noTE Follow the similar steps to use the Gallery, Video Player, or Polaris Viewer 4 to share contents. noTi CE Check that your device is connected with your home network using Wi-Fi connection to use this application. Some DLNA enabled devices (e.g. TV) support only the DMP feature of DLNA and will not appear in the renderer device list. Your device might not be able to play some contents. To download contents from remote content library 1. On the Home screen, touch > SmartShare . 2. Touch the Library icon and select the device of the remote content library. 3. Yo u can browse the content library. 4. Touch and hold a content thumbnail and then touch Download or touch the Menu Key > Download. noTi CE Some contents are not supported.
32Connecting to Networks and Devices To upload contents to the remote content library 1. On the Home screen, touch > SmartShare . 2. Touch the Library icon and select My phone. 3. Yo u can browse the local content library to find the content(s) you want. 4. Touch and hold a content thumbnail and then touch Upload or touch the Menu Key > Upload. 5. Select the device of the remote content library to be uploaded. noTi CE Some DLNA enabled devices do not support the DMS upload functionality and will not upload files. Some contents are not supported.
33Calls Making a call 1. On the Home screen, touch to open the keypad. 2. Enter the number using the keypad. To delete a digit, touch . 3. Touch to make a call. 4. To end a call, touch . TiP! To enter "+" to make international calls, touch and hold . Calling your contacts 1. On the Home screen, touch to open your contacts. 2. Scroll through the contact list or enter the first few letters of the contact you want to call by touching the Search contacts field. Yo u can also touch the letters along the right side of the screen. 3. In the list, touch the contact you want to call. 4. Touch the phone number you want to dial. Answering and rejecting a call Locked screen # Swipe in any direction to answer an incoming call. # Swipe in any direction to decline an incoming call. Unlocked screen # Touch to answer an incoming call. # Touch to decline an incoming call. TiP! Touch or swipe the Decline with message Key if you want to send a message to the caller. If the caller is unknown, the Decline with message Key is not available. Adjusting call volume To adjust the in-call volume during a call, use the Volume Keys on the left side of the phone.
34Calls In-call options Once you initiate a call, you will see these on-screen options. Add call - Touch to initiate a 3-way call. End - Touch to end the call. Dialpad - Touch to display the dialpad. Speaker - Touch to turn the speakerphone on or off. The Speaker button lights up to indicate that the speakerphone is on. WARNi NG Because of higher volume levels, do not place the phone near your ear while using the speakerphone. Mute - Touch to mute the microphone during a call. The Mute button lights up to indicate the microphone is muted. To unmute the microphone, touch it again. Bluetooth (Only available when a Bluetooth headset is connected to your phone) - Touch to conduct the call via the Bluetooth headset for hands-free conversation. When another call is coming while you are in a call, touch Swap calls to receive the new call and put the current call on hold. Making a second call 1. During your first call, touch Add call and dial the number. Yo u can also go to your recently dialed list by touching or search contacts by touching and select the number you want to call. 2. Touch to make the call. 3. Both calls are displayed on the call screen. Your initial call is put on hold. 4. To merge the calls, touch . To end active calls, touch . NOTE Yo u are charged for each call you make. Viewing your call logs On the Home screen, touch and choose the Call logs tab . View a complete list of all dialed, received and missed voice calls.
35Calls TiP! Touch any call log entry to view the date, time and duration of the call. Ti P! Touch the Menu Key , then touch Delete all to delete all the recorded items or touch Delete to select individual items. Call settings Yo u can configure phone call settings such as call reject and other special features offered by your carrier. 1. On the Home screen, touch . 2. Touch the Menu Key . 3. Touch Call settings and choose the options that you want to adjust. Save unknown numbers – Add unknown numbers to contacts after a call. Voicemail Service - Allows you to select your carrier's voicemail service. Setup – If you are using your carrier’s voicemail service, this option allows you to enter the phone number to use for listening to and managing your voicemail. Notification sound - Allows you to select the sound to notify you of new voicemail receipt. Vibrate - Allows you to choose the vibration setting. Incoming call popup - Checkmark if you want to display incoming call popup when using Camera and Videos. Decline with messages – Add or edit a message to send out when you decline incoming call. Privacy keeper - Choose whether to hide the caller name and/or number for incoming calls or not. Power button ends call - Checkmark if you want to end a call with the Power/Lock Key, besides the End Key on the screen. Auto retry – Set the auto retry option. After the time you set (10 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds), the phone will automatically redial in case a call is failed to be connected.
36Calls TTY mode – Allows you to set the TTY mode to communicate with other TTY devices. DTMF tones – Set the length of DTMF tones. Auto answer – Enable Auto answer with Handsfree. Call restrictions – Set the call restrictions options. Call duration – Allows you to view the call duration. Voice privacy – Checkmark to enable enhanced privacy mode.
37Contacts Add contacts to your phone and synchronize them with the contacts in your Google account or other accounts that support contact syncing. Searching for a contact 1. On the Home screen, touch to open your contacts. 2. Touch the Search contacts field and enter the contact name using the keyboard or touch the letters along the right side of the screen and scroll to the contact. Adding a new contact 1. On the Home screen, touch , enter the new contact's number, then touch Add to Contacts > Create new contact. 2. If you want to add a picture to the new contact, touch and choose from Take photo or Select from Gallery. 3. Touch at the top of the screen to select the account where you want to save the contact. 4. Touch a category of contact information and enter the details about your contact. 5. Touch Save. Editing Contacts 1. Open the Contacts application. 2. Touch the Contact entry you want to edit. 3. Touch the Edit icon at the top of the screen. 4. Make the changes to the entry as needed. 5. Touch Save. noTE If you touch the Menu Key from the contact info screen, you can choose from Delete, Share, Join, Export or Add to Home screen.
38Contacts Favorite contacts Yo u can classify frequently called contacts as favorites. Adding a contact to your favorites 1. On the Home screen, touch to open your contacts. 2. Touch a contact to view their details. 3. Touch the star to the right of the contact's name. The star turns yellow, indicating that the contact has been added to your contacts. Removing a contact from your favorites list 1. On the Home screen, touch to open your contacts. 2. Touch the Favorites tab tab and choose a contact to view its details. 3. Touch the yellow star to the right of the contact's name. The star turns grey and the contact is removed from your favorites.
39Messaging Your phone combines text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages into one intuitive, easy-to-use menu. Sending a message 1. Touch on the Home screen, and touch to create a new message. 2. Enter a contact name or contact number in the To field. As you enter the contact name, matching contacts appear. Yo u can touch a suggested recipient. Yo u can add multiple contacts. noTE Yo u will be charged for a text message for every person you send the message to. 3. Touch the text field and start to compose your message. 4. Touch to attach an image, video, audio, contact, or add another slide. 5. Touch the Menu Key to open the Options menu. Choose from Add subject, Insert smiley, Quick messages, Discard, Set priority, and Change skin. 6. Touch Send (or Send MMS) to send your message. WARNi NG The 924-character limit(6 Segments) may vary from language and how the SMS is coded. WARNi NG If an image, video or audio file is added to an SMS message, it is automatically converted into an MMS message and you are charged accordingly. Conversation view Messages (SMS, MMS) exchanged with another party are displayed in chronological order so that you can conveniently see an overview of your conversation. Using Smilies Liven up your messages using Smilies. When writing a new message, touch the Menu Key , then choose Insert smiley.
40Messaging Changing your message settings Your phone's message settings are predefined, so you can send messages immediately. Yo u can change the settings based on your preferences. Open the Messaging application and touch the Menu Key > Settings. Set you preferences as desired. Storage • Delete old messages: Enable this option to delete older text messages when the limit for maximum number of text messages is exceeded. • Text message limit: Sets the maximum number of text messages that can be stored on the phone (per conversation). • Multimedia message limit: Sets the maximum number of multimedia messages that can be stored on the phone (per conversation). • Signature: Ta p this to automatically add signature (blue checkmark displays). • Callback number: Check this to automatically add callback number (blue checkmark displays). Text Message • Set priority: Select Normal or High. Multimedia Message • Auto-retrieve: Enable this option to automatically retrieve the entire content of your multimedia message. When checked, the multimedia message header, message body, and any attachments will automatically download to your phone. • Roaming auto-retrieve: Disable this option if you only desire the multimedia message headers to download while roaming. Enable this option to automatically download your complete multimedia messages even while roaming. • Set priority: Select Low, Normal, or High.
