Avoid damage to your hearing
•	Damage to your hearing can occur if you are exposed to loud sounds for long periods of time. We therefore recommend that you do not turn on or off the handset close to your ear. We also recommend that music and call volumes are set to a reasonable level.•	If you are listening to music whilst out and about, please ensure that the volume is at a reasonable level so that you are aware of your surroundings. Provided herein is the complete TIA Safety Information for Wireless Handheld phones. Inclusion of the text covering Pacemakers, Hearing Aids, and Other Medical Devices is required in the owner’s manual for CTIA Certification. Use of the remaining TIA language is encouraged when appropriate.
Exposure to Radio Frequency Signal
Your wireless handheld portable telephone is a low power radio transmitter and receiver. When it is ON, it receives and also sends out radio frequency (RF) signals. In August, 1996, the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) adopted RF exposure guidelines with safety levels for handheld wireless phones. 
Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standards previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies:

Those standards were based on comprehensive and periodic evaluations of the relevant scientific literature. For example, over 120 scientists, engineers, and physicians from universities, government health agencies, and industry reviewed the available body of research to develop the ANSI Standard (C95.1).

Phone Operation
NORMAL POSITION: Hold the phone as you would any other telephone with the antenna pointed up and over your shoulder.
Tips on Efficient Operation
For your phone to operate most efficiently:
Do not touch the antenna unnecessarily when the phone is in use. Contact with the antenna affects call quality and may cause the phone to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed.
Driving
Check the laws and regulations on the use of wireless phones in the areas where you drive. Always obey them. Also, if using your phone while driving, please:•	Give full attention to driving - driving safely is your first responsibility;•	Use hands-free operation, if available;•	Pull off the road and park before making or answering a call if driving conditions so require.
Electronic Devices
Most modern electronic equipment is shielded from RF signals. However, certain electronic equipment may not be shielded against the RF signals from your wireless phone. 
•	Use your phone in temperatures between 0ºC and 40ºC, if possible. Exposing your phone to extremely low or high temperatures may result in damage, malfunction, or even explosion.

Pacemakers
The Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum separation of six (6”) inches be maintained between a handheld wireless phone \
and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. These recommendations are consistent with the independent research by and recommendations of Wireless Technology Research. Persons with pacemakers:•	Should ALWAYS keep the phone more than six inches from their pacemaker when the phone is turned ON.•	Should not carry the phone in a breast pocket.•	Should use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for interference.•	If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place, turn your phone OFF immediately.
Hearing Aids
Some digital wireless phones may interfere with some hearing aids. In the event of such interference, you may want to consult your service provider. 
Other Medical Devices
If you use any other personal medical device, consult the manufacturer of your device to determine if they are adequately shielded from external RF energy. Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this information.
Health Care Facilities
Turn your phone OFF in health care facilities when any regulations posted in these areas instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may use equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy.

Safety Guidelines
Vehicles
RF signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in motor vehicles. Check with the manufacturer or its representative regarding your vehicle.
You should also consult the manufacturer of any equipment that has been added to your vehicle.
Posted Facilities
Turn your phone OFF in any facility where posted notices so require.
Aircraft
FCC regulations prohibit using your phone while in the air. Turn your phone OFF before boarding an aircraft.
Blasting Areas
To avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn your phone OFF when in a blasting area or in areas posted: ‘Turn off two-way radio’. Obey all signs and instructions.
Potentially Explosive Atmosphere
Turn your phone OFF when in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere and obey all signs and instructions. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. 
Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but not always, marked clearly. 
Potential areas may include: fueling areas (such as gasoline stations); below deck on boats; fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities; vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane); areas where the air contains chemical\
s or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders); and any other area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.

For Vehicles Equipped with an Air Bag
An air bag inflates with great force. DO NOT place objects, including installed or portable wireless equipment, in the area over the air bag or in the air bag deployment area. If in-vehicle wireless equipment is improperly installed and the air bag inflates, serious injury could result.

Charger and Adapter Safety
•	The charger and adapter are intended for indoor use only. 
Battery Information and Care
•	Please dispose of your battery properly or take it to your local wireless carrier for recycling.•	The battery does not need to be fully discharged before recharging.•	Use only LG-approved chargers specific to your phone model since they are designed to maximize battery life.•	Do not disassemble or impact the battery as it may cause electric shock, short-circuit, and fire. Store the battery in a place out of reach of children.•	Replace the battery when it no longer provides acceptable performance. If you need to replace the battery, take it to the nearest authorized LG Electronics service point or dealer for assistance.•	Recharge the battery after long periods of non-use to maximize battery life.•	Battery life will vary due to usage patterns and environmental conditions.

Safety Guidelines
•	Use of extended backlighting, Media Net Browsing, and data connectivity kits affect battery life and talk/standby times.•	Actual battery life will depend on network configuration, product settings, usage patterns, battery and environmental conditions. •	For your safety, do not remove the battery incorporated in the product.
Explosion, Shock, and Fire Hazards
•	Do not put your phone in a place subject to excessive dust and keep the \
minimum required distance between the power cord and heat sources.•	Unplug the power cord prior to cleaning your phone, and clean the power plug pin when it is dirty.•	When using the power plug, ensure that it is firmly connected. If it is not, it may cause excessive heat or fire.•	If you put your phone in a pocket or bag without covering the receptacle of the phone (power plug pin), metallic articles (such as a coin, paperclip or pen) may short-circuit the phone. Always cover the receptacle when not in use.•	Do not short-circuit the battery. Metallic articles such as a coin, paperclip or pen in your pocket or bag may short-circuit the + and – terminals of the battery (metal strips on the battery) upon moving. Short-circuiting of the terminal may damage the battery and cause an explosion.
General Notice
•	Using a damaged battery or placing a battery in your mouth may cause serious injury.•	Do not place items containing magnetic components such as a credit card, phone card, bank book or subway ticket near your phone. The magnetism of the phone may damage the data stored in the magnetic strip.•	Talking on your phone for a long period of time may reduce call quality due to heat generated during use.

•	When the phone is not being used for a long period time, store it in a safe place with the power cord unplugged.•	Using the phone in proximity to receiving equipment (i.e., TV or radio) may cause interference to the phone.•	Do not use the phone if the antenna is damaged. If a damaged antenna contacts skin, it may cause a slight burn. Please contact an LG Authorized Service Centre to replace the damaged antenna.•	Do not immerse your phone in water. If this happens, turn it off immediately. If the phone does not work, take it to an LG Authorized Service Centre.•	Do not paint your phone.•	The data saved in your phone might be deleted due to careless use, repair of the phone, or upgrade of the software. Please backup your important phone numbers. (Ring tones, text messages, voice messages, pictures, and videos could also be deleted.) The manufacturer is not liable for damage due to the loss of data.•	When you use the phone in public places, set the ring tone to vibration so as not to disturb others.•	Do not turn your phone on or off when putting it near your ear.•	Your phone is an electronic device that generates heat during normal operation. Extremely prolonged, direct skin contact in the absence of adequate ventilation may result in discomfort or minor burns. Therefore, use care when handling your phone during or immediately after operation. •	Do not attempt to repair or modify the device yourself. Your device is equipped with an internal rechargeable battery which should be replaced only by LG or an authorized LG repair center. You should never attempt to open or disassemble this device yourself and doing so may cause damage that will void your warranty.

FDA Consumer Update
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Centre for Devices and Radiological Health Consumer Update on Mobile Phones.
1.  Do wireless phones pose a health hazard?
The available scientific evidence does not show that any health problems are associated with using wireless phones. There is no proof, however, that wireless phones are absolutely safe. Wireless phones emit low levels of radio frequency energy (RF) in the microwave range while being used. They also emit very low levels of RF when in the standby mode. Whereas high levels of RF can produce health effects (by heating tissue), exposure to low level RF that does not produce heating effects causes no known adverse health effects. Many studies of low level RF exposures have not found any biological effects. Some studies have suggested that some biological effects may occur, but such findings have not been confirmed by additional research. In some cases, other researchers have had difficulty in reproducing those studies, or in determining the reasons for inconsistent results.
2.  
What is the FDA’s role concerning the safety of wireless phones?
Under the law, the FDA does not review the safety of radiation emitting consumer products such as wireless phones before they can be sold, as it does with new drugs 
or medical devices. However, the agency has authority to take action if wireless phones are shown to emit radio frequency energy (RF) at a level that is hazardous to the user. In such a case, the FDA could require the manufacturers of wireless phones to notify users of the health hazard and to repair, replace or recall the phones so that the hazard no longer exists.
Although the existing scientific data does not justify FDA regulatory actions, the FDA has urged the wireless phone industry to take a number of steps, including the following:•	Support needed research into possible biological effects of RF of the type emitted by wireless phones;•	Design wireless phones in a way that minimizes any RF exposure to the user that is not necessary for device function; and
