    2If banner paper is jammed in the fuser area, lift the fuser release lever.
    CAUTION:The fuser may be hot. Let it cool before touching it.
    Pull the paper toward the inside of the printer until it is free of the fuser, then remove the jam by rolling up the 
    paper from inside the printer until the entire banner sheet is free.
    To remove all other paper types jammed in the fuser area, continue with step 3.

    3Grasp the fuser handles, then press the fuser release buttons with your thumbs.
    CAUTION:The fuser may be hot. Let it cool before touching it.
    4Lift the fuser up and out of the printer. Set it on a clean, flat surface.

    5Open the standard tray, and remove the green fuser screwdriver.
    6Loosen the 2 red screws.

    7Grasp the green tab, and open the fuser access door.
    8Remove the jam.
    9Replace the fuser.
    10Replace the fuser screwdriver, and close the tray.
    11Check the top cover for additional jams.
    If there is no jam in the top cover, close the top cover and front door. If a jam is present, continue with step 12.
    12Remove the jam from the top cover.
    13Close the top cover and the front door.
    14Press .

    Check Area C
    Jams that cause a Check Area C message require opening the duplex jam access door. If you are printing on small 
    paper, the following steps may not clear the jam. See Removing small size paper from the duplex unit.
    1Open the duplex jam access door on the right side of the printer.
    2Remove the jam.
    3Press .
    If the paper jam message continues, check and clear all paper from the paper path.

    Check Area D
    This message indicates a paper jam in the duplex unit area. To clear area D:
    1Open the duplex jam access door on the right side of the printer.
    2Gently pull out the duplex unit.
    3Turn the paper forwarding dial counterclockwise.
    If the paper advances out of the duplex unit, remove the jam and go to step 7. If the paper does not advance, go to 
    step 4.

    4Open the duplex unit covers.
    5Remove the jam.
    6Close the duplex unit covers.

    8Close the access door.

    Removing small size paper from the duplex unit
    When printing on both sides of A5 or other small size paper, you may need to partially remove the duplex unit to clear the 
    jam.
    1Turn off the printer.
    2Open the duplex unit door.

    4Pull out the duplex unit far enough to see the duplex unit inlet.
