COOLING FANS 2 K5 ETM 1995 RANGE ROVER ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING MANUA L Condenser Fan Operation (Diesel) The Condenser Fan Motors (M113, M121) on vehicles equipped with diesel engines operate when any one of the following conditions occur: 1. Coolant temperature exceeds 100C (212F). 2. The A/C is operating. Condenser Fan with High Coolant Temperature Operation (Diesel) When the Ignition Switch (X134) is in position II, battery voltage is applied to the Ignition Load Relay (K127). The relay is energized, applying battery voltage to the Condenser Fan Relay (K109). If the coolant temperature exceeds 100C (212F), the Condenser Fan Coolant Temperature Switch (X113) closes and energizes the Condenser Fan Relay (K109) by applying ground to the relays coil. When the relay is energized, voltage from fuse F3 is applied to the Condenser Fan Motors (M113, M121) through the relays contacts. Fan Operation with A/C (Diesel) With the Igntion Switch (X134) in position II, battery voltage is applied to the Ignition Load Relay (K127). The relay is energized, applying battery voltage to the Condenser Fan Relay (K109) when the Front A/C Switch (X225) is turned on and the Fan Speed Switch (X179) is turned to positions I, II, II, or IV, ground is applied to terminal 86 of the Condenser Fan Relay (K109). The relay energizes, applying battery voltage from fuse F3 to the Condenser Fan Motors (M113, M121).

COOLING FANS 8 K5 ETM 1995 RANGE ROVER ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING MANUA L 3. Check Fuses F3, and F7 in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box (P125). 4. Check Fuse F18 in the Fascia Fuse Box. 5. If the Front Blower Motor (M101) does not operate normally, refer to Blower Controls, Section K1. 1. If the Condenser Fans do not turn on when the A/C is turned on, do Test A for Petrol Engines or Test B, the Condenser Fan Relay (K109) test, for Diesel Engines. 2. If only one of the Condenser Fans operates, do Test E, the Condenser Fan Motor (M113, M121) test. 3. If the Condenser Fans do not turn on when coolant temperature exceeds 100C (212F), do Test F, the Temperature Switch (X113) test. 4. On Petrol Engines, if the Condenser Fans do not stay on after the ignition has been turned off, fuel temperature exceeds 70C and coolant temperature exceeds 110C, do Test G, the Fan Control Module (Z118) test.
