Series Land Rovers fitted with a
P.C.V. (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) 
system allow the oil vapors from built-up
crankcase pressure to vent through the 
system and burn off in the cylinders.  This
prevents the oil from venting into the atmosphere.  It also helps
alleviate the odor and film of oil that can develop on the engine
and firewall.  Make sure your Land Rover’s P.C.V. system is vent-
ing properly by inspecting the condition of the rubber diaphragm
inside the P.C.V. valve and by checking each of the rubber hose
connections for cracks. A cracked diaphragm results in excessive
exhaust smoke and broken hoses can cause a vacuum leak,
resulting in poor running.Amsoil Products
