The Canadian BBS phone numbers are: Montreal515-938-3022 Toronto905-316-4255 Vancouv er604-664-6464 Winnipeg204-934-2735 FRU Replacement Strategy Before Replacing Parts Ensure that all s oftware fixes are installed prior to replacing any FRUs listed in this manual. Use the following strategy to prevent unnecessary FRU replac ement and s ervic e expens e: · If you are instructed to replace a FRU and that does not correct the problem, reinstall the original FRU before you continue. · Some c omputers have both a proc ess or board and a mainboard. If you are instructed to replac e either the proc ess or board or the mainboard, and the first board that you replac ed does not c orrect the problem, reinstall the original board, and then replac e the other (proc ess or or s ystem) board. · If an adapter or devic e c onsists of more than one FRU, an error c ode may be c aus ed by any of the FRUs. Bef ore replacing the adapter or device, remove the FRUs, one by one, to s ee if the symptoms change. Replac e only the f aulty FRU.

Safety Notice 1 Bef ore the c omputer is powered-on after FRU replacement, make sure all screws, springs, or other small parts are in plac e and are not left loos e inside the computer. Verif y this by s haking the c omputer and listening for rattling s ounds. Metallic parts or metal flakes can c aus e elec tric al shorts.
