● Black Cartridge or Color Cartridge ● Very Low Setting 3. Select one of the following options: ● Select the Stop option to set the product to stop printing until you replace the toner cartridge. ● Select the Prompt option to set the product to stop printing and prompt you to replace the toner cartridge. You can acknowledge the prompt and continue printing. ● Select the Continue option to set the product to alert you that the toner cartridge is very low, but to c ontinue printing. ● For color toner cartridges only, select the Print Black option to continue printing in black and white if the color t oner cartridges are very low. For models with fax, when the product is set to the Stop option there is some risk that faxes will not print aft er the new cartridge is installed if your product has received more faxes than the memory can hold while stopped. For models with fax, when the product is set to the Prompt option, there is some risk that faxes will not print af ter the new cartridge is installed if your product has received more faxes than the memory can hold while the product is waiting for the prompt to be acknowledged. Once an HP toner cartridge has reached Very Low, HP’s Premium Protection Warranty on that toner cartridge has ended. Al l print defects or cartridge failures incurred when an HP toner cartridge is used in Continue at very l ow mode will not be considered to be defects in materials or workmanship in the toner cartridge under the HP Print Cartridge Warranty Statement. Replace the toner cartridge When a toner cartridge approaches the end of useful life, you are prompted to order a replacement. You can continue prin ting with the current cartridge until redistributing the toner no longer yields acceptable print quality. 1 . Rotate the cartridges to access the cartridge that needs replac ement. ● LCD Control panel: Press the Rotate Cartridge s button to access the cartridge th at needs replacement. The control panel indicates the cartridge that is accessible in the rotation. ● Touchscreen control panel : Touch the Supply icon for the cartridge that needs replacement. 4. Remove the toner cartridge. 5. Remove the new toner cartridge from the bag. P lace the used toner cartridge in the bag for recycling. 6. Grasp both sides of the toner cartridge and dis tribut e the toner by gently rocking the cartridge. 7. 4. Open the front cover. 5. Lift the two levers that hold the imaging drum. 6. Remove the old imaging drum. ENWW Replace the imaging drum 67
7. Remove the new imaging drum from the bag. Plac e the used imaging drum in the bag for recycling. 8. Remove the protective shielding from the new imaging drum. CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the imaging drum to ligh t. C over it with a piece of paper. Do not touch the green roller. Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print - quality problems. 9. Insert the new imaging drum in the product. 10 .
