Print on special media
Only use media that is recommended for laser printers. See Supported media sizes on page 23.
NOTE:On the HP LaserJet P1006/P1009/P1500 Series, use the priority feed slot for printing one 
envelope or other special media. Use the main input tray for printing multiple envelopes or other special
media.

NOTE:Manual two-sided printing can cause the device to become dirty, reducing print quality. See
Clean the device on page 47 for instructions if the device becomes dirty.

Printing multiple pages on a single sheet of paper (N-up printing)
You can select the number of pages that you want to print on a single sheet of paper. If you print more 
than one page per sheet, each page appears smaller.  The pages are arranged on the sheet in the order 
that they would otherwise be printed.
1. From your software application, access the printer Properties (or Printing Preferences in 
Windows 2000 and XP). 
2. On the Finishing tab, select the correct number of pages per side.

4.After side one has printed, without changing the orientation, remove the paper stack from the output 
bin. Do not discard blank sheets. Maintaining the sa me orientation, insert the paper stack into the 
priority feed tray or the ma in tray, printed side down.

Canceling a print job
You can cancel a print job from a software application or a print queue.
To stop the device immediately, remove the remaining paper from the device. After the device stops,
use one of the following options.
●Device control panel (HP LaserJet P1006/P1009/P1500 Series only): Press Cancel.
●Software application: Typically, a dialog box appears briefly on your screen, allowing you to
cancel the print job.
●Windows print queue: If a print job is waiting in a print queue (computer memory)...

Replace the print cartridge
1.Open the print-cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information 
inside the print-cartridge box. To prevent damage  to the print cartridge, minimize its exposure to 
direct light by covering it with a sheet of paper.
2. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging.
