Using DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP, RFC 2131/2132) is one of several auto configuration mechanisms that the printer uses. If you have a DHCP server on your network, the printer automatically obtains its IP address from that server and registers its name with any RFC 1001 and 1002-compliant dynamic name services as long as a WINS (Windows Internet Naming Service) server IP address has been specified. Windows NT 4.0 Server To set up a DHCP scope on a Windows NT 4.0 server, perform the following steps: 1. At the Windows NT server, open the Program Manager window and double-click the Network Administrator icon. 2. Double-click the DHCP Manager icon to open this window. 3. Using the embedded Web server You can use the embedded Web server to view or change your IP configuration settings. To do this, open the embedded Web server and click on the Networking tab. Loading trays Use special print media, such as envelopes, labels, HP LaserJet glossy paper, HP LaserJet Photo paper, and transparencies in Tray 1 and Tray 2.
