This scanner switches to Power saving mode automatically to save power c\
onsumption when it remains unused for a certain 
time.
To configure the Power saving mode, do the following:
 
1.  Start up the Software Operation Panel.
 See Section 8.1 Scanner Settings.

 8.3 Offset/Scan Scale
 
 
 
When the position of the scanned image is not correct or the image is el\
ongated, use the following procedure to adjust the 
Offset and the Scan scale for correction.
 
 ATTENTION
 
The factory default settings are appropriate, so normally there is no ne\
ed to make any 
adjustment.
 
1.  Start up the Software Operation Panel.
 See Section 8.1 Scanner Settings.

 8.4 Multifeed Detection
 
 
 
Multifeed is a feeding error that occurs when two or more sheets in th\
e ADF paper chute are fed simultaneously into the 
scanner. 
If you continue scanning document without knowing this multifeed error, \
you could skip some of important data while scanning 
the document. 
The Multifeed Detection function this scanner provides can prevent such \
troubles. 
With the Multifeed...

  Does not detect multifeeds.
     
 Check Overlapping(Ultrasonic)
  Detects multifeeds by checking for document overlapping. 
When this option is selected, the following two more detection options c\
an be set:
l     You can specify the multifeed detection range by the length from the lea\
ding edge of document.  
To specify this, go to Step 4.
l     If two or more sheets of paper of the same size are sticked on the same \
position of the document, you can 
cancel the Multifeed Detection for that area....

   
5.  Speficy the detection range. 
   
 Selected range
  To specify the following detection range, you need to mark this checkbox\
 first. 
 
Unit: mm
Mark this checkbox to enable the settings configured in this dialog box.\
 Otherwise, let the checkbox unmarked. 
Clearing this checkbox sets both the starting and ending positions to 0\
, making the whole range of the document 
to be checked for multifeeds.
