Caution: Leaveyouroldcartridges inthe printer untilyouareready toreplace themtoprevent theprint head nozzles fromdrying out.Donot open inkcartridge packages untilyouareready toinstall theink. Cartridges arevacuum packedtomaintain reliability. 1. Turn onyour product. • Ifan ink cartridge isexpended, youseeamessage onthe LCD screen. Notewhich cartridges need tobe replaced andpress theOK button, thenchoose Replace now. • Ifyou arereplacing acartridge beforeyouseeamessage onthe LCD screen, pressthe home button ifnecessary, andselect Setup.Select Maintenance ,then select InkCartridge Replacement andpress theOK button. 137
2. Liftupthe scanner unit. Caution: Donot move theprint head byhand; otherwise, youmay damage yourproduct. Donot touch theflatwhite cable inside theprinter. 3. Squeeze thetabonthe cartridge andliftthe cartridge straightuptoremove it. Note: Dispose ofused cartridges carefully.Donot take theused cartridge apartortry torefill it. 138
Warning: Ifink gets onyour skin, wash itthoroughly withsoap andwater. Ifink gets intoyour eyes, flush them immediately withwater. Ifink gets intoyour mouth, spititout and seeadoctor rightaway. Keep inkcartridges outofthe reach ofchildren. 4. Before opening thenew cartridge package, shakeitgently fourorfive times. Caution: Donot shake thecartridges afteropening thepackages, orink may leak. 5. Remove thecartridge fromthepackage. Caution: Donot touch thegreen chiponthe cartridge. Installthenew cartridge immediately after removing theoldone; ifyou donot, theprint head maydryoutand beunable toprint. 139
6. Remove theyellow tapefrom theside ofthe cartridge. Caution: Donot remove anyother labels orseals, orink will leak. 7. Insert thenew cartridge intotheholder andpush itdown untilitclicks intoplace. 8. Press theOK button. 140
