83Problems with the Image or Sound Problems with the Image or Sound zNo image appears on the screen. Check to ensure that the operation indicator and projection lamp indicator are both green, and that the lens cover is removed from the projectorÕs lens. Check to ensure that the screen is not blanked. Tr y pressing the remote controlÕs Blank button to see if this turns off blanking. Check to ensure that the image source is correctly selected. Try pressing the Computer button or Video button on the remote control or operation panel to select another video source. The video signal from your computer may be outside the response range of the projector. Check what type of video output signal your computer is producing. zNO SIGNAL message appears on the screen. Check to ensure that an image source is connected to the terminal that is selected for input of the image source. Check to ensure that the computer or video equipment that is connected to the projector is outputting a signal. Check to ensure that the computer cable is correctly connected to the Computer In terminal. If the projector does not receive a video signal input for more than 30 minutes, it will automatically turn off and enter sleep mode.
846 ¥ Troubleshooting zThe entire image or parts of the image are blurred or out of focus. Try rotating the focus ring to focus the image. Check to ensure that the projector is positioned at the proper distance from the screen (page 5). For best results, the projector must be perpendicular to the screen and the projection sur face must be flat. Try adjusting the brightness and contrast settings available in the Computer and Video menus. Note that you can also adjust synchro- nization using the and buttons of the operation panel. Check the lens for dir t or dust. Use the procedure described on page 74 for details on cleaning the lens. zAbnormal image coloring The color balance may not be set pr operly. When you are displaying a computer image, you can use the Compu- ter Menu to adjust the red and blue settings. If you are displaying a video image, use the Video menu to adjust the color intensity and tint settings. zNo sound Check if the audio output is muted. Tr y pressing the Mute button on the remote control or operation panel. Check to ensure that the volume is not turned all the way down. Check to ensure that the video/audio cable is connected securely to the audio source and projector. Check to ensure that the wrong source has not been selected. Tr y selecting a different source by pressing the Computer or Video button on the remote control or operation panel.
