Maintaining the Projector111 Cleaning the Air Filter Your projector includes an air filter to ensure the best performance and help protect your equipment investment. If dust collects on the air filter, clean it as described here. Dust clogs prevent proper ventilation and can cause overheating, which can damage the projector. 1. Turn off the projector. 2. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. 2. Slide the switch, then open the air filter cover on the side of the projector. 3. Grasp the tab and pull the air filter straight out as shown. note Air filters contain polycarbonate, ABS resin, and polyurethane foam. Dispose of used air filters according to local regulations.

Replacing the Lamp The life span of the projection lamp is about 2500 hours if Power Consumption in the Settings menu is Normal (default), and 3500 hours if this setting is ECO. See page 117 to check the lamp usage. It is time to replace the lamp when: ■The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate. ■The message Replace the lamp appears on the screen and the Lamp light flashes orange. To maintain...

114Maintaining the ProjectorFollow these steps to replace the lamp: 1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. 2. Let the projector cool for at least an hour (if it has been on). The lamp is extremely hot immediately after use. 3. Loosen the lamp cover screw (you cannot remove it). Then slide the lamp cover off. 4. Gently insert the new lamp along the guide rail, then push it in place. note The lamp(s) in this product contain mercury. Press the Menu button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu. 2. Select the Reset menu and press Enter. You see this screen: 3.
