Replacing Consumable Products321 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 2. Remove the filter from the printer. 3. Take the new filter out of its package. Insert the new filter to the printer. 4. Remove the waste toner collector.
322Replacing Consumable Products 5. Take the cap off and cover the hole for the waste toner collector with it. Note: If you need to set the waste toner collector down, place it on a flat surface with the capped side facing up to prevent the toner content from spilling out. 6. Turn the blue knob on the front of the photoconductor as shown below.
Replacing Consumable Products323 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 7. Hold the handle of the photoconductor unit and pull it toward you to remove the photoconductor unit form the printer. 8. Take the new photoconductor unit out of its package and remove the protective cover. c Caution: Do not touch the belt on the top of the unit or the green photo conductor area. Otherwise, the print quality may decrease.
324Replacing Consumable Products 9. Hold the photoconductor unit by its handle and insert the unit into the printer. 10. Turn the blue knob back to the original position.

326Replacing Consumable Products 13. Close cover D. Fuser Unit Handling precautions Always observe the following handling precautions when replacing the consumable products. Do not touch the surface of the consumable product. Doing so may impair print quality. w Warning: ❏The fuser unit can be very hot if the printer has been in use. Turn the printer off and wait for 30 minutes until the temperature has subsided before replacing the fuser unit. ❏Do not dispose of the used consumable products in fire, as it may explode and cause injury. Dispose of it according to local regulations. ❏Keep the consumable products out of the reach of children.
Replacing Consumable Products327 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 Replacing the fuser unit Follow the steps below to replace the fuser unit. 1. Turn off the printer, and wait for 30 minutes until the temperature has subsided. 2. Push the latch on cover A to the left and open the cover. 3. Open cover B.
328Replacing Consumable Products 4. Turn the handles on both side of the fuser unit to unlock them. 5. Lift the fuser unit out of the printer as shown below.
Replacing Consumable Products329 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 6. Take the new fuser unit out of its package and remove the protective cover. 7. Hold the new fuser unit by the handles and lower it into the printer making sure that the guide posts slide into the holes on the bottom of the unit.
330Replacing Consumable Products 8. Turn the handles on both sides of the fuser unit to lock them. Note: Make sure that the locks are completely in the locked position. 9. Close covers B and A.
