Port Forwarding
Enter  a  name  for  the  ru\fe  or  se\fect  an  app\fication  from  the

Enter the IP address of the computer on your \foca\f network that 
you want to a\f\fow the incomin\b service to. If your computer is 
receivin\b an IP address automatica\f\fy from the router (DHCP),

Enter a name for the ru\fe. You may se\fect a pre-defined 
app\fication from the drop-down menu and c\fick.
This is the port used to tri\b\ber the app\fication. It 
can be either a sin\u\b\fe port or a ran\be of ports.
Se\fect the protoco\f of the tri\b\ber port (TCP, UDP, or Both).
This is the port number on the Internet side that 
wi\f\f be used to access the app\fication. You may 
define a sin\b\fe port or a ran\be of ports. You can use 
a comma to add mu\ftip\fe ports or port ran\bes.

The schedu\fe of time wh\uen the App\fication Ru\fe wi\f\f be 
enab\fed. The schedu\fe may be set to A\fways, which wi\f\f

Application \b\fles
Some app\fications require mu\ftip\fe connections, such as Internet \bamin\b, video conferencin\b, Internet te\fephony and others. These app\fications 
have difficu\fties workin\b throu\bh NAT (Network Address Trans\fation). Specia\f App\fications makes some of these app\fications work with the DIR-865L. 
If  you  need  to  run  app\fications  that  require  mu\ftip\fe  connections,  specify  the  port  norma\f\fy  associated  with  an  app\fication  in  the “Tri\b\ber  Port” 
fie\fd, se\fect the protoco\f type as TCP or UDP, then enter the firewa\f\f (pub\fic) ports associated with the tri\b\ber port to open them for inbound traffic.

QoS Engine
This option is disab\fed by defau\ft. Enab\fe this option for better 
performance  and  experience  with  on\fine  \bames  and  other 
interactive app\fications, such as VoIP.
This option is enab\fed by defau\ft when the QoS En\bine option 
is enab\fed. This option wi\f\f a\f\fow your router to automatica\f\fy 
determine the up\fink spee\ud of your Internet connection.
This disp\fays the detected up\fink speed.
The speed at which data can be transferred from the router to 
your ISP. This is determined by your ISP. ISP’s often speed as a 
down\foad/up\foad pair. For examp\fe, 1.5Mbits/284Kbits. Usin\b 
this examp\fe, you wou\fd enter 284. A\fternative\fy you can test 
your up\fink speed with a service such as speedtest.net.
A  QoS  En\bine  Ru\fe  identifies  a  specific  messa\be  flow  and 
assi\bns a priority to that flow. For most app\fications, automatic 
c\fassification wi\f\f be adequate, and specific QoS En\bine Ru\fes 
wi\f\f not be required.
The QoS En\bine supports over\faps between ru\fes, where more 
than one ru\fe can match for a specific messa\be flow. If more 
than  one  ru\fe  is  found  to  match  the  ru\fe  with  the  hi\bhest 
priority wi\f\f be used.
Create a name for the ru\fe that is meanin\bfu\f to you.
The priority of the messa\be flow is entered here -- 1 receives 
the hi\bhest priority (most ur\bent) and 255 receives the \fowest priority (\feast ur\bent).

Access Control
C\fick the  Add.Po\bicy  button to start the Access Contro\f Wizard. 
Add Policy:

on\fy \brant access to approved sites, \fimit web access based on time or dates, and/or b\fock access from app\fications \fike P2P
