3.Withthedrivecontrolengaged,thefrictionwheel 
mustcontactthedriveplate. 
4.Ifadjustmentisnecessary,loosenthejamnuton 
thedrivecableandthreadthecableinoroutas 
necessary.Tightenthejamnuttosecurethecable 
whencorrectadjustmentisreached. 
5.Reassembletheframecoverandturntheunitback 
toitsoperatingposition.

certaintoremoveitnow.

areas,wherefuelfumesmayreachanopen 
flame,sparkorpilotlightasonafurnace,water 
heater,clothesdryerorgasappliance. 
NOTE:Itisimportanttopreventgumdepositsfrom 
forminginessentialfuelsystempartsoftheengine 
suchasthecarburetor,fuelfilter,fuelhoseortank 
duringstorage. 
CAUTION:Alcoholblendedfuels(calledgasoholor 
usingethanolormethanol)canattractmoisturewhich 
leadstoseparationandformationofacidsduring 
storage.Acidicgascandamagethefuelsystemofan 
enginewhileinstorage. 
Toavoidengineproblems,thefuelsystemshouldbe 
emptiedbeforestoragefor30daysorlonger.Follow 
theseinstructionstoprepareyoursnowthrowerfor 
storage:

1.Removeallgasolinefromthecarburetorandthe 
fueltanktopreventgumdepositsfromformingon 
thesepartsandharmingtheengine. 
2.Runtheengineuntilthefueltankisemptyandit 
stopsduetolackoffuel. 
3.Draincarburetorbypressingupwardonbowldrain, 
locatedbelowthecarburetorcover.SeeFigure31. _ARNING:Donotdraincarburetorifusing  fuelstabilizer.Neveruseengineorcarburetor 
cleaningproductsinthefueltankorpermanent 
damagemayoccur.
