Prepare the computer for disassembly. 2. Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad. 3. Remove the keyboard. 4. Remove the heatspreader. WARNING: Unplug the telephone lines before attempting to replace the modem. Failure to follow these directions could result in bodily harm or loss of life. 5. Prepare the computer for disassembly. 2. Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad. 3. Remove the keyboard. 4. Remove the heatspreader 5. Remove the display assembly. 6. Remove the plastic subpanel assembly 7. Pull the fan backwards from the chassis slot, disconnect the fan cable from the system board, and remove the gasket. Replace the fan gasket. 8. Ensure the proper standoffs are used when replacing standoffs on the system board. Removing the Screws and Standoffs from the System Board18. Push in the PCMCIA eject lever and lift the front end of the system board up, pull forward, and remove the system board from the chassis. 20. Remove all cables from the system board. To replace the system board, reverse the previous procedure. CAUTION: Before replacing the system board, check the dip switch settings or damage may occur to the system board.
