    7. DIAGNOSTIC OPERATION
    7-1. To start the diagnostic program
    (1) Turn the power off.
    (2) Turn the power on while pressing the INIT switch.
    (3) Release the switch when the display shown below appears.
    * Operation is not guaranteed if the switch is released before the display appears.
    (4) Enter 99990000 and then [OK].
    (5) LCD calibration test starts automatically.
    Refer to [ 12 ] LCD calibration test for the operation details.
    7-2. Notes for the DIAG
    •Make sure the printer used to print out test results is set to a baud rate of 9600 bps and is connected
    to COM4.
    •Perform testing by connecting HHS-15 to COM2.
    •Always make sure to connect REMOTE DISP to COM3.
    •When desiring to conduct a test for an unlimited number of times, enter a value other than 0 in
    accordance with the explanation for each test.  Tests are performed for an unlimited number of times
    when a value of 1 through 9 is entered for the commend used to specify the number of times testing
    is performed in the operating procedure on each page.  However, this function allows a test to only
    be performed once or for an unlimited number times.

    •In operator-evaluated tests, the results for that test are determined according to the OK and NG keys
    after the following display appears.

    •A display that excludes the following display is shown for the LCD display of each test.

    the LCD (SVGA).  (In this DIAG, the display area is
    divided into a display for register entry and a display
    of DIAG results and so forth.

    [ 1 ] Batch test 1
    [Function]
    RAM test, FLASH test, display test, test print, time setting and drawer open test are performed
    continuously.
    Make sure to connect the printer to COM4.
    [Operation]
    Refer to the page for the details of the following tests.
    Operation : 2 ST
    The following tests are performed automatically.
    (1) RAM test : WRITE/READ all block test
    (2) FLASH : Check SUM test
    (3) Test print
    (4) Times setting : Set the following data.

    [Function]
    WRITE/READ test for RAM is performed.

    When the memory in the FLASH memory is cleared (by the CLEAR test), the program is
    cleared also.

    [ 11 ] LCD test
    [Function]
    This test will check the LCD display.
    In case of one time check only, the test can be ended by the judgment (OK or NG) of the operator.
    The display can be switched by the touch of the panel. The display will not change to the next one
    unless the panel is touched.

    Press [OK] key or [NG] key to end the test when performing one time check.

    [ 12 ] LCD calibration test
    [Function]
    This will test the calibration of the LCD (touch panel).
    * Perform the calibration in the diagnostic mode even when the product is in the market. Make sure
    to backup the register data when necessary.
    [Operation]
    A cross appears at the following four coordinates in the panel one by one. When a cross at a certain
    coordinate is touched, the next coordinate will show another cross there.
    (X,Y) = (100,100), (100,500), (700,100), (700,500)

    If X4 or Y4 data goes out of the following tolerance, the test will be NG.
    Please test again.
