Basic Printing 7 „Loading the Envelopes Envelopes can be fed from the Auto Sheet Feeder only. Use either DL or US Comm. #10 size envelopes. (4)Select E Envelope in MMedia Type, and then select CComm. Env. #10 or DDL Env. in Page Size. For the printer driver setting, refer to "P Printing with Windows"on page 13, "P Printing with Macintosh"on page 16. Important• Do not use the envelopes with embossed or treated surface, with a double flap or pressure seals, with sticker flaps. • Select either D DL Env. or CComm. Env. #10 According to the envelope size you are using. NoteSet the Paper Thickness Lever to the right for envelopes. Fold the envelope flap. (1) Align the envelope against the right side of the Auto Sheet Feeder. Set the envelope with its flap on the left side. A maximum of 10 envelopes can be loaded at once. (3) Ensure that the lamp of the Auto Sheet Feeder is lit. Printing direction (2) Pinch the Paper Guide and slide it against the left side of the envelope. Basic Printing 8 „Loading the 4" x 6" size papers You can print on the 4" x 6" size papers. (4)Select 4 4 x 6 in in PPage Size. For the printer driver setting, refer to "P Printing with Windows"on page 13, "P Printing with Macintosh"on page 16. (1) Align the paper stack against the right side of the Auto Sheet Feeder. Despite the direction of the photograph, load the paper in the vertical direction. You can load a maximum of 20 papers in 4" x 6" size. (3) Ensure that the lamp of the Auto Sheet Feeder is lit. Basic Printing 9 „Loading Paper in the Front Sheet Feeder 1Flatten the four corners of the paper before loading it. 2Prepare to load paper. Note• For detailed information on the speciality media Canon provides for use with its various printers, refer to the section "U Using Speciality Media"on page 11. • See "P Printing Media" in the User’s Guide for detailed instructions on how to load speciality media into the printer. ImportantWhen paper is curled, hold the opposing curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat. Basic Printing 10 3Load the paper. 4Pull out the Paper Output Tray. Pull out completely as shown.Note• Do not stack more than 50 sheets in the Paper Output Tray. • Do not touch the printed surface until the ink dries. For specific drying times, refer to the instructions packaged with your media. Note• You can also select the paper source from the printer driver. For details, refer to "U Using the Auto Sheet Feeder and the Front Sheet Feeder" in the User’s Guide. • When you load the media in the Front Sheet Feeder, ensure that you are printing on the correct side of it as shown below. •To Print with Duplex Printing After printing one side, the printed paper can be fed from the Auto Sheet Feeder. Load the paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder to print on the other side, according to the message shown on the screen.(2) Align the paper stack against the right side of the Front Sheet Feeder. (3) Pinch the Paper Guide and slide it against the each side of the paper stack. (1) Insert the paper into the Front Sheet Feeder with the print side facing down. Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left and select P Plain Paper from the printer driver M Media Type. • For detailed description of print media types, refer to "P Printing Media" in the User’s Guide. For instructions on how to print from the software applications, refer to the Photo Application Guide. Note• The menu screens and dialog boxes that appear may vary, depending on the software application you are using. • The steps described in this section are for printing in Windows XP. • Ensure that the proper paper source is selected. Basic Printing 15 4Print the document. Note•From the PPage Setup tab select the correct document size to be printed. • Usually, select P Paper Feed Switch from PPaper Source. For detailed description of the P Paper Source settings, refer to "UUsing the Auto Sheet Feeder and the Front Sheet Feeder" in the User’s Guide. • To adjust Print Quality settings, select C Custom and click SSet on the Main tab. You can control quality in the S Set Print Quality dialog box. • For details about other printer driver functions, refer to "P Printer Driver Functions" in the User’s Guide or Help. • Select P Preview before printing by clicking the check box. This displays a preview screen that allows you to confirm the selected printing effects and how your document will look when printed. Some applications do not contain the function to display the preview. Note• You can cancel a print job in progress by simply pressing the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer. See"CCanceling Printing"on page 19. •Click CCencel Printing on BJ Status Monitor to stop printing. To show BJ Status Monitor, click C Canon PIXMA iP2000 on the taskbar.
