The printer will not print properly if the wrong ink tank is used, or installed in the incorrect position. Printing Maintenance 31 „Replacing an Ink Tank When an ink tank runs out of ink, replace it using the following steps. 1Ensure that the printer is on, and then open the front cover. The print head holder moves to the center. 2Remove the empty ink tank. (1)Push the tab and remove the ink tank. 3Prepare a replacement ink tank. (1)Unpack the new ink tank and pull off the orange tape. (2)Remove the orange protective cap from the bottom of the ink tank and discard it. ImportantzHandle ink tanks carefully to...

Printing Maintenance33 When Printing Becomes Faint or Colors are Incorrect When printing becomes faint or colors are incorrect, even if ink remains in the ink tanks, the print head nozzles are probably clogged. Follow the procedures below to maintain the print head.Important Before maintaining the print head, check the following: zOpen the front cover and make sure the ink tank contains ink. Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so perform print head cleaning only when necessary. 1Ensure that the printer is on. 2Open the Printer Properties dialog box.
