You can rotate the displayed image to the desired orientation.
1Select [Rotate].
 Under the [ 3] tab, select [ Rotate], 
then press < 0>.
2Select the image.
  Press the < U> key to select the 
image to be rotated.
  You can also select an image on the 
index display.
3Rotate the image.
 Each time you press < 0>, the 
image will rotate clockwise as follows: 
90°  → 270°  → 0°
  To rotate another image, repeat steps 
2 and 3.

 Press the  key to select the image.  During the single-image display, the 
 icon displayed on the 
upper left indicates that it is a movie.
  During the index display, the 
perforation on the left edge of the 
image indicates that it is a movie. 
Movies cannot be played on the 
index display, so press the < u> 
button to switch to the single-
image display.

FunctionPlayback Description
2 ExitReturns to the single-image display.
7 PlayPressing  toggles between play and pause.
8 Slow motionAdjust the slow motion  speed by pressing the < U> key. 
The slow-motion speed is indicated on the upper right.
5 First frameDisplays the movie’s first frame.
3 Previous frameEach time you press < 0>, a single previous frame is 
displayed. If you hold down < 0>, it will rewind the movie.
6 Next frameEach time you press < 0>, the movie will play...

You can playback the images in the card as an automatic slide show.
1Select [Slide show].
 Under the [ 4] tab, select [ Slide 
show ], then press < 0>.
2Select the images to be played 
back.
  Press the < V> key to select the top 
menu item, then press < 0>. Press 
the < V> key to select one of the 
following: [ jAll images/z Stills/
k Movies/i Date]. Then press 
< 0 >.
  If you selected [ iDate ], press the 
< B > button while < zH> is 
displayed brightly.
  The [ Select date ] screen will appear....

3 Slide Show (Auto Playback)
 3Set the play time and repeat 
option.
 Press the < V> key to select [ Set 
up], then press < 0>.
  For still photos, set the [ Play time] 
and [Repeat ] options, then press the 
< M > button.
4Start the slide show.
 Press the < V> key to select [ Start], 
then press < 0>.
X After [ Loading image... ] is displayed, 
the slide show will start.
  To pause the slide show, press  
([ G ] displayed on upper left). Press 
< 0 > again to resume playback.

You can also view the still photos and movies on a TV set. Before 
connecting or disconnecting the cable between the camera and 
television, turn off the camera and television.
* Adjust the movie’s sound  volume with the TV set.* Depending on the TV set, part of the image displayed might be cut off.
1Connect the provided AV cable to 
the camera.
 Connect the AV cable to the camera’s 
 terminal. 
  With the plug’s < Canon> logo facing 
the back of the camera, insert it into 
the < q /C> terminal....

Viewing the Images on TV
The HDMI Cable HTC-100 (sold separately) is required.
1Connect the HDMI cable to the 
camera.
 Connect the HDMI cable to the 
camera’s < D > terminal.
  With the plug’s < dHDMI MINI > logo 
facing the front of the camera, insert it 
into the < D > terminal.
2Connect the HDMI cable to the TV 
set.
 Connect the HDMI cable to the TV’s 
HDMI IN port.
3Turn on the TV and switch the 
TV’s video input to select the 
connected port.
4Set the camera’s power switch to

Protecting the image prevents it from being erased accidentally.
1Select [Protect images].
 Under the [ 3] tab, select [ Protect 
images ], then press < 0>.
X The protect setting screen will 
appear.
2Select the image and protect it.
  Press the < U> key to select the 
image to be protected, then press 
< 0 >.
X When an image is protected, the 
 icon will appear on the screen.
  To cancel the image protection, press 
 again. The < K> icon will 
disappear.
  To protect another image, repeat step 
2....

You can either select and erase images one by one or erase them in 
one batch. Protected images (p.158) will not be erased.
Once an image is erased, it canno t be recovered. Make sure you 
no longer need the image before  erasing it. To prevent important 
images from being erased accide ntally, protect it. Erasing a 
1+73 image will erase both the RAW and JPEG images.
1Playback the image to be erased.
2Press the < L> button.
XThe erase menu will appear at the 
bottom of the screen.
