We recommend that you replace the drum unit with a new one before there is a noticeable deterioration in the print quality. Ready Alarm Paper Toner Data Drum ! Caution • While removing the drum unit, handle it carefully because it may contain toner. • You should clean the printer when you replace the drum unit. See “Cleaning” in this chapter.

If toner scatters on your hands or clothes, immediately wipe or wash it off with cold water. ✏ Note 3Discard the used drum unit according to local regulations. Make sure that the printer is turned on, the front cover is open and the Drum and Alarm LEDs are illuminated. 7. Reset the drum counter referring to the instructions supplied with the new drum unit. !Caution • The Drum LED indication does not disappear until you reset the drum counter. • Do not reset the drum counter when you replace only the toner cartridge. 8.
