Back4
Pressing Back when the printer is in the READY state takes it offline, and the LCD will show the control panel 
menu.
Pressing Back allows you to return to the previous level from the current menu level.
Back also allows you to choose the previous digit while setting numbers.
When you choose a setting and it does not have an asterisk (Set was not pressed), Back allows you to return 
to the previous menu level with the original setting unchanged.

The LED is a light which show the printer status.

The LCD shows the current printer status. When you use the buttons on the control panel, the LCD will 
change.
If there are any problems, the LCD will show the error message, maintenance message or call service 
message so you will know that you need to take action. (For more information about these messages, see 
LCD messages on page 128.)

Reprinting from RAM4
You can reprint from random access memory (RAM). The reprint data in RAM will be deleted when the printer 
is turned off.
When you use RAM to reprint:
aPress Set on the control panel.
bPress + or - to choose SETUP. Press Set.
cPress + or - to choose RAMDISK SIZE. Press Set.
dThe present RAM disk is 0MB. Press + to increase the reprint RAM size in increments of 1MB.

How to reprint the last job4
aMake sure that the REPRINT setting is ON by using the buttons on the control panel to enter the SETUP 
menu.
Note If you print with the printer driver we have supplied with the printer, the settings for Use Reprint in the printer 
driver will take priority over the settings made on the control panel. (For more information, see Use Reprint 
on page 42.)

Printing Secure data4
Secure data 4
Secure documents are protected by a password and only those people who know the password will be able 
to print the document. The printer will not print the document when you send it for printing. To print the 
document, you must use the control panel of the printer (with the password). Secure data will be deleted after 
printing once.
When the area to spool data is full, the earliest data is automatically deleted first. The order of deleting data...

When there is no secure data in memory4
If the printer does not have secure data in the memory and you press Secure Print, the LCD will show NO 
DATA STORED.
Canceling printing secure data4
If you want to cancel the current secure print job, press Job Cancel. Job Cancel also allows you to cancel 
a paused secure print job.

Using the control panel LCD menu4
When you use the Menu buttons (+, -, Set or Back), remember the following basic steps:
„ When you press Set to choose a setting, an asterisk appears at the end of the LCD for a short time. After 
that, the LCD returns to the previous menu level.
„If no control panel operations are performed for 30 seconds, the LCD automatically returns to READY.
„After changing the status or a setting, pressing Back before you press Set will cause the LCD to return to...
