(For the recommended paper to use, see About paper on page 6.) aPull the paper tray completely out of the printer. bWhile pressing the blue paper-guide release lever (1), slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots. 1
Printing Methods 12 2 Note For Legal or Folio size paper, press the release button (1) in the bottom of the paper tray and then pull out the back of the paper tray. (Legal or Folio size paper are not available in some regions.) cPut paper in the tray, and make sure that the paper is below the maximum paper mark (bbb). The side to be printed on must be face down. IMPORTANT Make sure the paper guides touch the sides of the paper so it will feed properly. dPut the paper tray firmly back in the printer. Make sure that it is completely inserted into the printer. 1
Printing Methods 13 2 eLift up the support flap to prevent paper from sliding off the face-down output tray, or remove each page as soon as it comes out of the printer. 1

Printing Methods 20 2 Printing on thick paper, labels and envelopes2 When the back output tray is pulled down, the printer has a straight paper path from the MP tray through to the back of the printer. Use this paper feed and output method when you want to print on thick paper, labels or envelopes. (For the recommended paper to use, see About paper on page 6 and Types of envelopes on page 9.) aOpen the back cover (back output tray). b Pull down the two gray levers, one on the left-hand side and one on the right-hand side, toward you as shown in the illustration below. cOpen the MP tray and lower it gently.
