Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, causing risk of electric shock. • Do not attempt to clean the heating elements. • \bversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven, as they may create fire or risk of electric shock. • A fire may occur if the toaster oven is covered or touching flammable materials including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Do not store any item on top of the unit while in operation. • Do not store any material, other than manufacturer’s recommended accessories, in this oven when not in use. • Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: paper, cardboard, plastic, and other items not constructed of oven safe metal and glass pans. • Do not cover crumb tray or any part of this oven with metal foil. This will cause overheating in the oven.
3 GROUNDED PLUG As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. TAMPER-RESISTANT SCRE\f \farn\bng: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized service personnel. ELECTRICAL CORD 1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. 2. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used: a) The marked electrical rating of the power cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. b) The extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. 5 HOW TO \fSE This appliance is intended for household use o\inly. Getting Started • Remove all packing material, any stickers, and the plastic band around the power plug. • Remove and save literature. • Please go to www.prodprotect.com/applica to register your warranty. • Wash all removable parts as instructed in Care & Cleaning Section\i. • Select a location where this unit is to be used, allowing enough space from the back of the \iunit and wall to allow heat flow without damage to cabinets and walls. Important information about your oven 1. This oven was designed to cook faster. Please inspect your food earlier than the prescribed cooking time for a conventional oven to ensure that it does not get over-cooked. 2. This oven gets hot. When in use, always use oven mitts or potholders when touching any outer or inner surface of the oven. 3. When using the oven for the first time, you may notice smoke or a slight odor during the first few minutes. This is normal. 4. Be sure food or baking dish does not come within 1 1 /2 inches (3.81cm) of the top heating elements. 5. Food should not extend beyond the edges of the baking pan/drip tray to avoid drippings from falling onto the heating elements. 6. The heating elements will cycle on and off to maintain even heat distribution. 7. After the cooking cycle is completed, the main display will stay illuminated for a short time if not unplugged. Changing to and from Celsius and Fahrenheit Press and hold the Up \iand Down temperature arrows ( ) simultaneously. The display will show either a °C for Celsius or °F for Fahrenheit.
6 1. Plug into outlet. 2. Display light will illuminate and all function lights will light up momentarily. 3. When turned on, the oven will either default to factory settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 4. Choose the desired function and proceed with detailed function information below. Convection Ba\bing Function\i | Display will blink until de\isired temperature setting is met. T\iimer will not start until the oven is preheated. Note: This oven was designed to coo\b faster. Please inspect your food earlier than the prescribed coo\bing time for a conventional oven to ensure that it does not get over-coo\bed. 1 . Press the Convection Baking function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the temperature buttons ( ) to select the desired temperature. Up arrow for a higher temperature, and down for a lower temperature. 4. If needed, press the time buttons ( ) to select the desired time. Up arrow for a longer time period, and Down for a shorter time period. Select Stay \bn ( ) by pressing the Down arrow past Zero. The Stay \bn icon ( ) will show in the display panel. 5. Press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin heating the oven. Display will blink while oven is preheating. 6. \bnce it ’s preheated there will be an audible beep and the display will stop blinking; Place the food in the oven on the middle or low rack position to begin baking. Note: \fse a metal, oven-tempered glass, or ceramic ba\bing dish. 7. If using the oven timer, there will be an audible beep once the baking cycle is complete and the oven will stop heating. If not using the timer, press the Start/ Stop Button (I/0) once cooking cycle is complete. 8. Unplug the appliance when not in use. OPERa TING YO\fR OVEN
7 Broil Function | Display will blink until de\isired temperature setting is met. T\iimer will not start until the oven is preheated. 1. Press the broil function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the temperature buttons ( ) to select the desired temperature. Up arrow for a higher temperature, and Down for a lower temperature. 4. If needed, press the time buttons ( ) to select the desired time. Up arrow for a longer time period, and Down for a shorter time period. 5. Press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin heating the oven. Display will blink while oven is preheating. 6. \bnce it ’s preheated there will be an audible beep and the display will stop blinking; Place the food in the oven on the top rack position to begin broiling. Be sure food or baking dish does not come within 11 /2 inches (3.81cm) of the top heating elements. Note: Place food directly on rac\b with ba\bing tray in place or inside a metal, oven-tempered glass, or ceramic ba\bing dish. 7. There will be an audible beep once the broil cycle is complete and the oven will stop heating. 8. Unplug the appliance when not in use. Toast Function | No preheat needed for this function. 1. Press the Toast function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the time/toast shade buttons ( ) to select the desired shade. Up arrow for a darker shade, and Down for a lighter shade. Note: Shades 1-7 are available, 1 being the light\iest and 7 being the d\iar\best. 4. Place food directly on rack in the middle rack position and then press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin toasting. 5. 8 Bagel Function | No preheat needed for this function. 1. Press the Bagel function button (). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the time/toast shade button ( ) to select the desired shade. Up arrow for a darker shade, and Down for a lighter shade. Note: Shades 1-7 are available, 1 being the light\iest and 7 being the d\iar\best. 4. Place food directly on rack in the middle rack position and press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin toasting. 5. There will be an audible beep once the toasting cycle is complete and the oven will stop heating. 6. Unplug the appliance when not in use. Reheat Function | No preheat needed for this function. 1. Press the Reheat function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the temperature button ( ) to select the desired temperature. Up arrow for a higher temperature, and Down for a lower temperature. 4. If needed, press the time buttons ( ) to select the desired time. Up arrow for a longer time period, and Down for a shorter time period. Select Stay \bn by pressing the Down arrow past Zero. The Stay \bn icon ( ) will show in the display panel. 5. Place food on middle or low rack and press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin reheating the food. 9 Frozen Snac\bs | Display will blink until desired temperature setting is met. Timer will not start until the oven is preheated. 1. Press the Frozen Snacks function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. When turned on, the oven will either default to factory settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the temperature button ( ) to select the desired temperature. Up arrow for a higher temperature, and Down for a lower temperature. 4. If needed, press the time buttons ( ) to select the desired time. Up arrow for a longer time period, and Down for a shorter time period. 5. Press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin heating the oven. Display will blink while oven is preheating. 6. \bnce it ’s preheated there will be an audible beep and the display will stop blinking; Place the food in the oven on the middle or low rack position to begin baking. Press the Pizza function button ( ). The blue light will illuminate and flash. 2. The oven will either default to factory function settings or to the last setting used. (see Function Chart on page 10) 3. If needed, press the temperature button ( ) to select the desired temperature. Up arrow for a higher temperature, and Down or a lower temperature. 4. If needed, press the time buttons ( ) to select the desired time. Up arrow for a longer time period, and Down for a shorter time period. 5. Press the Start/Stop button (I/0) to begin heating the oven. Display will blink while oven is preheating. 6. \bnce it ’s preheated there will be an audible beep and the display will stop blinking. Place the food in the oven, directly on the rack, in the middle or low rack position to begin baking. 7. There will be an audible beep once the pizza cycle is complete and the oven will stop heating. 8. Unplug appliance when not in use.
