    							IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be fol-
    lowed, including the following:
    Read all instructions.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or any
other part of this grill in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
    Unplug fro
m outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appli-
ance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appli-
ance to an authorized service center for examination, repair, or adjustment.
    Do not use outdoors.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manu-
    facturer may cause injuries.
Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces or hang over the edge of table or
    counter.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven.
Always use the appliance on a dry, level surface.
Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or
    other hot liquids.
To use, plug cord into electrical outlet. To disconnect, grasp plug and remove
from outlet. Do not yank on cord.
Do not use grill for other than intended use.
Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or indus-
    trial use.
    SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
    POLARIZED PLUG(North/Central American Models only)
This appliance has a polarized plug - one blade is wider than the other. To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a quali-
fied electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug
    in any way.
    ELECTRICAL CORD
To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the
same circuit. The cord length of this appliance has been selected to reduce the
possibility of tangling or tripping over a longer cord. If additional cord length is
needed, an extension cord rated not less than 10 amperes, 120 volts or 6 amps/220-
240 volts, and with the Underwriters Laboratories listing or NOM or the appropriate
electrical agency, may be used. If using an extension, be sure to arrange it so that it
cannot be pulled or tripped on.

    							Using Your Grill-English
    BEFORE FIRST USE
Clean the cooking surface by wiping with a sponge or cloth dampened in hot, sudsy
water. When cleaning, DO NOT IMMERSE the unit and do not run water directly
onto cooking surfaces. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Before preheating for first use,
condition the cooking surface by applying a light coating of vegetable oil with a
pastry brush or paper towels, or use a non-stick cooking spray. Wipe off excess oil
    with paper towels.
    HOW TO USE
    1. Plug the cord into a standard outlet. The Power Light (A) will come on. Preheat
    the unit for 10-12 minutes.
    2. Turn the Temperature Control Dial (A) to high for best browning results and grill
marks. Use the ridged side of the grill for hamburgers, steaks, hot dogs, bacon,
sausages, fish steaks, grilled vegetables, chicken breasts and other meats. Use
the flat griddle side for such foods as pancakes, French toast, eggs, or grilled
    cheese sandwiches.
    3. Use the cooking chart as a guide for food amounts and cooking times. Watch
foods and turn frequently for more even cooking.
    CARE AND CLEANING
    1. When finished cooking, unplug the unit from the
outlet and allow the grill to cool completely before
    cleaning.
    2. Slide out the removable grease tray (B) and pour
off grease into a disposable cup or can. The
grease tray is dishwasher-safe (top rack) or it may
be washed by hand in soapy water.
    3. Clean the cooking surfaces by wiping them with a
sponge or cloth dampened with hot water and
dish detergent. When cleaning, DO NOT IMMERSE THE UNIT nor run water
    directly onto the cooking surface.
    4. Do not use steel wool pads or other harsh, abrasive cleaners on the cooking sur-
faces as they may damage the non-stick coating. Never spray or apply cleaners
    directly onto the grill.

    							5. To remove cooked-on food, use a plastic bristle brush, polyester, or nylon mesh
pad. Be sure to wipe the handles after each use. Dry with a soft cloth.
TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR GRILL & GRIDDLE
    • To prevent scratching the grill surface, always use plastic utensils. Never cut
    foods on the grill.
    • Flat, thin, and boneless foods grill best. Foods that are too thick take longer to
cook (like bone-in chicken breasts, or corn on the cob).
    • For low fat foods, i.e. fish steaks, chicken breasts, turkey burgers, vegetables, use
a light coating of vegetable oil to keep foods from drying out or sticking to the grill.
    • If using non-stick cooking spray, lightly spray both sides of non-fatty foods (like
chicken tenders) prior to placing on grill.
    • If you are using the grill for hamburgers, you can simultaneously use the griddle
for a grilled cheese sandwich to make two lunches at once. Or, use the griddle to
toast/heat rolls and buns for the burgers.
    • Use low and medium settings to reheat previously cooked foods, to keep foods
warm after cooking, or to cook very thin sliced or delicate foods like apple or
    pineapple slices.
