3 • READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. • Only use iron for intended use. • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids. • Always turn the iron to MIN setting before plugging in or unplugging from the outlet. Never pull on the cord to disconnect from the electrical outlet; instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect. • Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. • Always disconnect iron from electric outlet before filling with or emptying water, cleaning, and when not in use. • Do not operate the iron if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage to the iron or its cord, or if it’s leaking. 5 HOW TO USE This prod\bct is for ho\bsehold \bse only. GETTING STARTED • Remove the plastic band aro\bnd the power pl\bg and all lab\Áels, tags and stickers attached to the body, cord, or soleplate of the iron. • Remove and save literat\bre. FILLING THE WATER TANK 1. Tilt the iron and \bsing a clea\Án meas\bring c\bp, po\br water into opening \bntil the water reaches the MAX level mark on the water tank. Do not overfill. T\fp: This iron is designed to \bse normal tap water. Do not \bse water processed thro\bgh a home softening system. If yo\br water is very hard, yo\b can \bse a mixt\bre of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water to avoid b\bild-\bp. It is not recommended to \bse water with perf\bmes or \Áscented additives. 2. Stand the iron on the heel rest. 3. To refill at any time d\bring the i\Ároning process, \bnpl\bg the iron and follow the above proced\bre. USING YOUR IRON 1. Pl\bg the iron into an o\btlet. The red Power light will ill\bm\Áinate on the handle, indicating that the iron is heating. 2. Read the man\bfact\brer's fabric label for clothing care recommendations to help select the correct temperat\bre setting. T\fp: Since it takes an iron longer to cool down than heat \bp, organizing yo\br clothing from Low to High temperat\bre can c\bt down yo\br ironing time. 3. Select the temperat\bre and steam level on the iron by t\brning the SmartSteam™ dial \bntil yo\b’ve reached the desired setting. A fabric g\bide is prin\Áted on the water tank for easy reference. 4. Allow the iron abo\bt 2 min\btes to heat \bp to the desired temperat\bre. T\fp: To dry iron on low heat \bse SmartSteam™ settings 1–3, or for high heat simply empty the \Áwater tank and follow the normal directions. 5. When finished ironing, t\brn the dial\Á to the MIN setting a\Ánd \bnpl\bg from the o\btlet. 6. Stand the iron on its heel rest and allow it to completely cool off before storing.

7 CLEANING AND CARE This prod\bct contains no \bser serv\Áiceable parts. Refer to q\balified service personnel. CLEANING OUTSIDE SURFACES1. Make s\bre the iron is \bnpl\bgged and \Áhas completely cooled. 2. Wipe the soleplate and o\bter s\brface with a soft, damp\Á cloth. Water and small amo\bnts of\Á gentle ho\bsehold soa\Áps, s\bch as dishwashing liq\bid, can be \bsed.\Á Never \bse heavy-d\bty cleaners, vin\Áegar or abrasive sco\bring pads that may scratch or discolor the iron. 3. After the iron has been thoro\bghly dried, t\brn t\Áhe iron back on and lightly steam over an old cloth. This will help remove any reside left in the steam holes. 4. When finished cleani\Áng, t\brn iron off and allow time to cool before storing. STORING YOUR IRON 1. Check that the iron is on the MIN set\Áting, \bnpl\bgged and completely cool. 2. Empty the water tank by opening the water fill door and t\brning the iron \bpside down over a sink. 3. Wrap the cord loosely aro\bnd the heel of the \Áiron and \bse the clip on \Áthe pl\bg to clip the end of th\Áe cord to the wrapped cord. (B) 4. 8 IRONING TIPS AND T\LRICKS • This iron is designed to \bse normal tap water. If yo\br water is very hard, yo\b can \bse a mixt\bre of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water to avoid b\bild-\bp. It is not recommended to \bse water with perf\bmes or scented additives. • Since it takes an iron longer to cool down than heat \bp, organizing yo\br clothing from Low to High temperat\bre can c\bt down yo\br ironing time. • Whenever temperat\bre settings are changed, allow the iron to stand a min\bte or two to allow heat \bp or cool down. Test garment by pressing a small hidden area to make s\bre temperat\bre of iron is correct. • Whenever ironing a garment wit\Áh mixed fabrics, read the garment’s tag for detailed directions or select t\Áhe fabric setting for the most delicate fabric. For example, when ironing a shirt that is 65% cotton and 35% polyester, \bse the polyester setting. • If yo\b’re \bns\bre of the fabric’s content, test a small area (on the inside seam or hem) before yo\b proceed to iron the entire garment or cloth. • If water dripping occ\brs, this means tha\Át the soleplate isn’t hot eno\bgh to create steam. J\bst allow the iron a min\bte to reheat and then res\bme ironing. • To prevent iron marks on yo\br fabric, iron the fabric inside o\bt. • P\btting on yo\br clothes right aft\Áer ironing can act\bally \Ácreate wrinkles. Always allow yo\br clothing to cool for abo\bt 5 min\btes after ironing to set the press.
9 TROUBLESHOOTING ProblemCauseSolu\b\fon The iron is pl\bgged in, b\bt the soleplate is not heating. Power s\bpply iss\be. Check that the pl\bg is properly inserted into the o\btlet or try pl\bggi\Áng the iron into a different o\btlet. Not eno\bgh steam or no steam is coming o\bt of the iron. SmartSteam™ setting selected is too low. Lower heat levels are not intended to have steam.T\brn the SmartSteam™ Dial to settings 4–6 to iron with steam. Not eno\bgh water in the water tank. Follow the instr\bctions \bnder the “filling t\Áhe water tank” section and fill to Max level marker. Iron is not preheated. If the iron isn’t f\blly preheated to the desired setting, the anti-d\Árip feat\bre will prevent the iron from creating steam. Allow the iron additional time to heat. Discolored water is coming thro\bgh the holes and staining the fabric Resid\be b\bild-\bp in t\Áhe soleplate cavity or in the soleplate holes.Empty the water tank after each \bse. \fse of descaling ag\Áents, perf\bmed or scented additives. Refrain from \bsing descaling agents, \Á perf\bmed or scented additives. \fse of Starch. Always clean yo\br soleplate after \bsing starch and clean yo\br iron reg\blarly. P\bre distilled water or softened water is being \bsed. \fse only \bntreated tap water or a mix of half \Á tap and half distilled water and clean yo\br iron reg\blarly.
