3 • READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. • Use iron only for intended use. • To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids. • The iron dial should be turned to minimum setting before plugging in or unplugging from the outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from the outlet; instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect. • Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing. • Always disconnect iron from electric outlet before filling with water, cleaning, or emptying and when not in use. • Do not operate the iron if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage to the iron or its cord, or if it’s leaking. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not dissemble the iron; take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair, or call the appropriate toll- free number on the cover of this manual. Incorrect reassembly can cause risk of electric shock when the iron is used. • Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down— there might be hot water in the reservoir. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS • To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit. • If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electrical shock due to overheating. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over. 5 HOW TO USE This product is for household use onl\yy. GETTING STARTED • Remove \fll l\fbels, t\fgs \fnd \ystickers \ftt\fched to the body, cord, or solepl\fte of the iron. • Remove \fnd s\fve liter\fture. FILLING THE WATER TANK 1. With the iron on \f fl\ft surf\fce with the solepl\fte down, open the w\fter-fill cover. 2. Using \f cle\fn me\fsurin\yg cup, pour w\fter into opening until w\fter re\fches the “MAX” level m\frk on the side o\yf the w\fter t\fnk. Do not overfill. Close the w\fter-fill cover securely. 3. St\fnd the iron on the heel rest. 4. To refill \ft \fny time during the ir\yoning process, unplug the iron \fnd follow the \fbove procedure. USING YOUR IRON 1. Plug the iron into \fn outlet. The red Power Indic\ftor Light will illumin\fte \ft the bottom of the LED Displ\y\fy. The iron is OFF when the red light is on. 2. Re\fd the m\fnuf\fcturer f\fbric l\fbels for m\fteri\fl content \fnd clothing c\fre recommend\ftions to help select the correct temper\fture \fnd ste\fm settings. 3. To select the temper\fture on the iron, press the Temp button on the h\fndle. Scroll through the setting opt\yions on the LED disp\yl\fy until the blue light illu\ymin\ftes next to the desired f\fbric setting. 4. The blue light will \yblink while the iron is he\fting. Once it h\fs re\fched the selected temper\fture, the light will st\fy on \fnd no longer bli\ynk. 5. To dry iron (iron without ste\fm), it is not necess\fry to empty the w\fter t\fnk; simply move the v\fri\fble ste\fm selector di\fl \fll the w\fy to the left on the Dr\yy Iron setting. 6. To iron with ste\fm, push the v\fri\fble ste\fm di\fl to the desired \fmount of ste\fm. For optim\fl results, the ste\fm settings should \ybe used with the following temper\fture settings. o No Ste\fm: Silk \fnd Blends \y(1 \fnd 2) o Ste\fm Setting 1: Wool (3) o Ste\fm Setting 2: Cotton (4) o Ste\fm Setting 3: Linen (\y5) 7. When finished ironing, scroll through the settings un\ytil the red Power Indic\ftor Light illumin\ftes. This me\fns th\ft the iron is off \fnd c\fn be unplugged from the outlet. 8. 6 ADDITIONAL FEATURES \furs\b of S\beam Use for ironing in the vertic\fl \fnd horizont\fl position. Press the Burst of Ste\fm button to gener\fte \f burst of ste\fm. Do not spr\fy silk. 3-way Au\bo Shu\b Off The iron will \futom\ftic\flly shut off \fft\yer 30 seconds of in\fctivity i\yf left on its solepl\fte or side. If left vertic\flly on the heel \yrest, it will shut off\y \ffter 8 minutes. When the iron is in Auto-Shut Off, the red light on the h\fndl\ye will blink. Simply move the iron to t\fke it off st\fnd-by. IRONING TIPS AND T\FRICKS • The iron c\fn be filled with \yordin\fry t\fp w\fter; if your w\fter is h\frd, you m\fy w\fnt to use distilled w\fter. • For optimum perform\fnce, \fllow the iron to st\fnd on the heel rest \fbout two minutes \ffter filling before beginning to iron. • If you’re unsure of the f\fbric’s content, test \f sm\fll \fre\f (on the inside se\fm or hem) before you proceed to iron the entire g\frment or cloth. • Whenever ironing \f g\frment with \ymixed f\fbrics, select the f\fbric setting for the most delic\fte f\fbric. For ex\fmple, when ironing \f shirt th\ft is 65% cotton \fnd 35% polyester, use the "blends" set\yting (number 2.) • Whenever temper\fture settings \fre ch\fnged to \f higher or lower temper\fture, \fllow the iron to st\fnd \f minute or so to \fllow he\ft up or cool down. Test g\frment by pressing \f sm\fll hidden \f\yre\f to m\fke sure temper\fture of iron is correct.
7 CLEANING AND CARE This product cont\fins no user servi\yce\fble p\frts. Refer to service \bu\flified service personnel. CLEANING OUTSIDE SURFACES1. M\fke sure the iron is unplugged \fnd h\y\fs completely cooled. 2. Wipe the solepl\fte \fnd outer surf\fce with soft, d\fmp cl\yoth. W\fter \fnd sm\fll \fmounts of \ygentle household so\fp\ys, such \fs dishw\fshing li\buid, c\fn be used. N\yever use he\fvy-duty cle\fners, vineg\fr\y or \fbr\fsive scouring p\fds th\ft m\fy scr\ftch or discolor the iron. 3. After the iron h\fs been thoroughly dried, turn th\ye iron b\fck on \fnd lightly ste\fm over \fn old cloth. This will help remove \fny reside left in the vents. 4. When finished cle\fning, \yturn iron off \fnd \fllow time to cool before storing. AUTO-CLEAN™ SYSTEM For optim\fl results over time, it is recommended th\ft you cle\fn your iron \fbout once \f month to keep the ste\fm vents free of build up. 1. Fill the w\fter t\fnk well below the MAX fill line. Plug in the iron. 2. Select the Cotton F\fbric setting (Numbe\yr 4) on the Temp di\fl \fnd st\fnd the iron on its heel while \yit prehe\fts. 3. Once the iron h\fs re\fched the desired temper\fture; turn it off \fnd then unplug it from the outlet. 4. Hold iron over \f sink with the s\yolepl\fte f\fcing down. 5. Move the v\fri\fble ste\fm di\fl over to the AutoCle\fn™ setting \fnd hold it in th\ft position. Be c\freful, \fs hot w\fter \fnd ste\fm will come out of the vents. 6. Continue to hold the di\fl in t\yhe position until \fl\yl of the w\fter h\fs emptied. If necess\fry, move the iron side-to-side \fnd front-to-b\fck to \fid the process. 7. When finished, rele\fse the di\fl from the AutoCle\fn™ position \fnd pl\fce the iron on its heel rest. 8. Plug the iron b\fck in \fnd \fllow it to he\ft for \fbout 2 minutes to dry out \fny rem\fining w\fter. STORING YOUR IRON 1. Once the iron is turned off \fnd \yunplugged from the outlet, \fllow it to cool. 2. Check th\ft the v\fri\fble ste\fm di\fl is set to dry. 3. Wr\fp the cord loosely \fround the iron. 4. Store vertic\flly on its heel to prevent w\fter le\fking from the solepl\fte.
