21 How to adjust your monitor How to adjust your monitor A Look at the Control Panel There are 8 keys for user’s control including “Enter”, “t” , “u”, “Exit”, “Mode”, “Input” and “ i key” and a power switch. The foll owing descriptions are the introd uction of these keys & switch. 1. “Power”: Turn the power on or off. 2. “Enter” key: Activate OSD, enter sub menu, select items, confirm selection. 3. t (Up) key: For Up/Increase adjustment. Th e key is also the hot key for Brightness. 4. u (Down) key: For Down/Decrease adjustment. The key is also the hot key for Contrast. 5. “Exit” key: Back to previous menu or exit OSD. 6. “Mode” key: Switch between different modes, including Standard, Movie 1, Movie 2, and Photo. 7. “Input” key: Manually switch the input signal between D-Sub and DVI. 8. “ i key” : Adjust vertical position, phase, horizo ntal position and pixel clock automatically. 11 18 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
22 How to adjust your monitor Hot Key Mode The monitor keys perform as hotkeys to provide di rect access to particular functions whenever the menu isnt currently displaying on-screen. Brightness hot key Contrast hot key Mode hot key Press the t key to enter the Brightness menu. Further press the t or u keys to adjust the degree of screen brightness and press the Exit key to exit OSD. Press the u key to enter the Contrast menu. Further press the t or u keys to adjust the degree of screen contrast and press the Exit key to exit OSD. Press the Mode key to enter the Mode menu. Keep pressing the key to switch between these four options: Standard, Movie 1 , Movie 2 , and Photo . The specified mode will optimise the image properties to best suit the image type. Standard mode is suggested for basic PC application; Movie 1, enhancing color and contrast level, is for viewing videos, while the Movie 2 mode best suits landscape-specific videos; Photo is designed for viewing still images. The newly defined settings will be activated spontaneously. When the adjustment is done, the Mode menu will disappear in 2 to 3 seconds.
23 How to adjust your monitor Input hot key Press the Input key to toggle between different PC video signal inputs that may be connected to your monitor.
24 How to adjust your monitor Main Menu Mode Press the Enter key to display the Main Menu. Use the t or ukeys to highlight a menu item, and press the Enter key to display the Menu item settings. Luminance sub menu Main Menu Press the t or u keys to adjust the degree of Brightness . Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or u keys to adjust the degree of Contrast . Press the Exit to return to previous menu.
25 How to adjust your monitor Geometry sub menu Press the t or u keys to adjust the display Horizontal Position . Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or u keys to adjust the display Vertical Position . Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. . Press the t or u key to adjust the monitor Pixel Clock . Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or u keys to adjust the degree of screen display Phase. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu.
26 How to adjust your monitor Color sub menu Bluish - applies a cool tint to the image and is factory pre-set to the PC industry standard white color. Reddish - applies a warm tint to the image and is factory pre-set to the news print standard white color. Normal - allows video and still phot ographs to be viewed with natural coloring. This is the factory default color. User Preset: User Preset is provided so you can tailor the image color tint to suit your liking. The blend of the Red, Green and Blue primary colors can be altered to change the color tint of the image. The default start setting is 50. Decreasing one or more of the colors will reduce their respective influence on the color tint of the image. e.g. if you reduce the Blue level the image will gradually take on a yellowish tint. If you reduce Green, the image will become a magenta tint. To reset the defaults, see Recall sub menu on page29 for details.
27 How to adjust your monitor OSD sub menu Press the t or u keys to adjust the Horizontal Position of the OSD. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or ukeys to adjust the Vertical Position of the OSD. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or u keys to adjust the display time of the OSD. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu.
28 How to adjust your monitor Language Sub menu Press the t or u keys to select a language to have th e OSD display menus in that language. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Picture may differ from the Language menu on your monitor, depending on the product supplied in your region.
29 How to adjust your monitor Recall sub menu Press the t or u keys to confirm Mode Recall . When you choose Ye s, it will recall the current mode to default settings. Press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or u keys to select Color Recall. Press the Enter key to recall color settings, or press the Exit key to return to previous menu. Press the t or ukeys to select Recall All. Press the Enter key to recall position and color settings, or press the Exit key to return to previous menu.
30 How to adjust your monitor Miscellaneous sub menu Mode: Select your desired mode from these four options: Standard , Movie 1 , Movie 2 , and Photo . The specified mode will optimize the image properties to best suit the image type. Standard mode is suggested for basic PC application; Movie 1, enhancing color and contrast level, is for viewing videos, while the Movie 2 mode best suits landscape-specific videos; Photo is designed for viewing still images. When done, press the Enter key to activate the settings. To return to previous menu, press the Exit key. Mode Demo: Mode Demo allows you to preview the effects of the selected Mode from Mode menu. When you choose On and press the Enter key to activate Mode Demo , the display will be divided into two windows; the left window demonstrates images of Standard mode, while the right window presents the images under the specified mode. To return to previous menu, press Exit.
