    Using t\be Notificati\Gon Panel
    Swipe the status bar\& downward from the top of \&the 
    screen to open the \&Notification Panel, where you can 
    see your calendar \&events, new messa\bes, and current 
    settin\bs—such as cal\&l forwardin\b or call statu\&s. From 
    here you can also \&open new messa\bes, reminders, etc. 
    TIP: You can also open th\&e Notification Panel 
    by pressin\b the Menu Key > Notifications from the 
    Home Screen.
    Re-open Recently Used Applica\Gtions
    1.    Press and hold the \&Home Key from any screen. 
    The phone will disp\&lay icons of appli\&cations you 
    used recently.
    2.  Tap the application \&you want to open.  
    						
    							How to Make Calls
    There are many ways to make a call with your \&phone. 
    And they\fre all easy to do.
    Calling from t\be Dialer
    1.   Press the Home Key >  > Dialer.
    2.    Enter the phone numbe\&r with the on-scree\&n keypad. 
    Tap 
     to delete wron\b di\b\&its.
    3.  Tap 
    .
    TIP: To make international cal\&ls, press and hold  
    to enter the “+”.
    Calling from Your Contacts
    1.    Press the Home Key >  > Contacts.
    2.    Swipe your fin\ber to\& scroll the contacts\& list and tap 
    the contact you want to call.
    You can search for \&a contact by tappin\b\& 
     and 
    enterin\b the contact \&name.
    3.  Tap the phone number\& you wish to call.
    Calling from Your Call History
    1.    Press the Home Key >  > Call log.
    2.  Tap 
     next to the number \&you want to call.
    Calling from a Text Message
    If a text messa\be co\&ntains a phone numb\&er that you 
    want to call, you can make the call while vi\&ewin\b the 
    text messa\be.
    1.    Press the Home Key > 
     > Messaging. 2.
       Tap the conversation\& and then the messa\b\&e that 
    contains the phone \&number you need.
    3.  Tap the number. 
    4.  Tap 
    .
    Using \fpeed Dial
    Press and hold 2 -\& 9 key from the dialer \&to call the 
    correspondin\b speed\& dial number.
    The number key 1 is reserved for y\&our voicemail.
    Assigning a speed \:dial key:
    1.    Press the Menu Key > Settings > Call settings 
    > Speed dial from the Home Scree\&n.
    2.    Tap a speed dial key.
    3.    Enter a phone number\& or tap 
     to select one from \&
    the contact list.
    4.   Tap OK.

    Muting a Call
    Durin\b a call, you can mute your \µphone so that t\&he 
    person you are spe\&akin\b to cannot hear\& you, but you 
    can still hear them:\&
    Tap Mute to turn your microp\&hone off. The mute 
    icon 
     will appear on the\& status bar. To turn your 
    microphone back on,\& tap Mute a\bain.
    Putting a Call on \GHold
    Durin\b a call, you can put it on \&hold by pressin\b th\&e 
    Menu Key > Hold. The  icon will appear \&in the 
    status bar.
    TIP: If you accept an i\&ncomin\b call while \&you\fre on 
    another call, the first call autom\&atically \boes on ho\&ld. 
    Tap 
     to switch between t\&he two callers.
    Turning t\be \fpeakerp\bone On/Off
    Tap  Speaker durin\b a call to turn the speakerphone on. 
    This icon  will appear in the\& status bar. Tap Speaker 
    a\bain to turn off th\&e speakerphone.

    Adjusting Your Call Settings
    From the Home Screen,\& you can open the c\&all  
    settin\bs menu by pre\&ssin\b the Menu Key > Settings 
    > Call settings. 
    P\bone Calls

    of numbers. To do this you must k\&now 
    your SIM\fs PIN2 code.

    							You can add contacts\& on your phone and\& synchronize 
    them with the contact\&s in your Goo\ble ac\&count or other 
    accounts that suppor\&t contact syncin\b.
    To see your contacts\&, press the Home Key > 
     > 
    Contacts. From there, you can tap the tab\&s on the top 
    to quickly switch to\& dialer, call lo\b, favorite contacts, or 
    contact \broups.
    Importing and  
    exporting Contacts
    You can import or ex\&port contacts from/to\& your SIM 
    card or microSD car\&d. This is especially \&useful when you 
    need to transfer contacts betw\&een different devic\&es.
    Import Contacts from t\be \fIM Card 
    or export to t\be Card
    1.    From the Contacts Scr\&een, press the Menu Key > 
    Import/Export.
    2.    Choose to import or \&export contacts. Your phone will 
    automatically displa\&y the contacts. 
    3.    Tap the contacts you \&want to import or exp\&ort. Or, 
    press the Menu Key > Select all.
    4.  Tap OK.
    Import Contacts from t\be micro\fD 
    Card or export to t\be Card
    1.    Press the Menu Key > Import/Export from the 
    Contacts Screen.
    2.  Choose to import or \&export contacts.  •    
    For export, the phone will pro\&mpt you with the name\& 
    of the vCard file. Tap OK to create the file i\&n the 
    microSD card.
    •     For import, you should have v\&Card files saved on\& the 
    microSD card. If there\fs more than one vCa\&rd file, 
    you need to select \&the vCard file and t\&ap OK.
    \f\baring Contacts 
    Information
    1.    From the Contacts Scr\&een, press the Menu Key > 
    Import/Export > Share visible contacts\1. Your 
    phone will export a\&ll information of th\&e contacts in 
    the Contact Screen t\&o a temporary vCard file.
    2.    Choose how you want to send the vCar\&d file. You 
    can either send it \&via Bluetooth to another device, 
    or as an attachment \&in an MMS, an email or a  
    Gmail messa\be. 
    Creating a Contact
    1.    From the Contacts Scr\&een, tap  or press the 
    Menu Key > New contact.
    2.    Tap Contact type to choose where to\& save 
    the contact.
    3.    Enter the contact name\& and phone numbers, emails, 
    IM accounts, postal addresses, etc. 
    4.  Tap Done to save the contact\&.

    							Adding a Contact t\Go Favorites
    1.   On the Contacts Scre\&en, press and hold the\& contact 
    you want to add to Favorites.
    2.  Tap Add to favorites from the pop-up men\&u.
    TIP: You can also tap a c\&ontact and then tap \& next 
    to the contact\fs name to add it to \&Favorites. 
    \fearc\bing for a Contact\G
    1.  Tap  at the bottom of the\& Contacts Screen.
    2.  Enter the contact name\& you want to search for.
    The contacts matched \&will be listed.
    Creating a New Group
    1.  Tap the Groups tab from the Contacts\& Screen.
    2.    Tap 
     at the bottom of the\& screen.
    3.  Enter the \broup name \&and tap OK.
    4.    Tap the new \broup an\&d tap 
     to add 
    \broup members.
    5.    Tap the check boxes next to the cont\&acts you want. 
    Then tap OK.
    To send messa\bes to t\&he \broup members, you can tap 
     next to the \broup a\&nd select messa\be re\&cipients 
    from the listed \brou\&p members.

    							When you enter a fie\&ld that needs text o\&r numbers, a 
    keyboard automaticall\&y appears on the sc\&reen. Press 
    and hold the input \&box and select Input method from 
    the pop-up menu to c\&han\be input method.
    Android Keyboard
    The Android Keyboard provides a\& layout similar to a\& 
    desktop computer keyboard. Turn the phone sidew\&ays 
    and the keyboard will chan\be\& from portrait to 
    landscape. 
    To use the landscape\& keyboard, just tap the Auto-
    rotate screen check box in Settings > Display. 
    (The landscape QWERTY keyboard is not supp\&orted in 
    all applications.)
    •    Tap the alphabetic k\&eys to enter letters\&. Press and  
    hold the keys to enter associ\&ated accented letter\&s or 
    numbers. For example, to enter é, press and hold 
     
    and the available accented le\&tters and the number\&  
    3 appear. Then slide to choose\& é.

    •     Tap  to use uppercase o\&r lowercase. This key also 
    chan\bes to indicate \&the current case yo\&u are usin\b: 
     for lowercase,  for uppercase, and  when 
    locked in uppercase.
    •     Tap 
     to delete any text \&you have entered.
    •     Tap 
     to select numbers a\&nd symbols. You can 
    then tap  to find more. Also, often used symbols\& 
    are displayed on to\&p of the keyboard. Swipe left or 
    ri\bht to find the one\& you need and tap t\&o enter.
    •     Tap 
     to enter a smiley f\&ace; hold the key and 
    swipe to choose mor\&e emoticons.
    •     Tap 
     to chan\be input meth\&od or set up Android 
    keyboard.
    •     Tap 
     to use Goo\ble\fs networked voice input.
    XT9 Text Input
    XT9 Text Input can speed\& up text input by re\&placin\b 
    the key tappin\b motion of\& input with a tracin\b \besture. 
    Simply move your fin\&\ber from letter to le\&tter without 
    liftin\b your fin\ber u\&ntil you reach the \&end of the word.
    XT9 offers three keyboard layouts, Keyboard, Reduced 
    keyboard, and Phone keypad.

    and symbols.

    twice to lock on  uppercase.

    the word. 
    The trace feature is also\& available in the Redu\&ced 
    keyboard layout and \&Phone keypad layout.

    NOTe\f: 
    The  icon is available when more t\&han one 
    lan\bua\be is activated. You can select more \&input 
    lan\bua\bes by pressi\&n\b the Menu Key > Settings 
    > Language & keyboard > X\b9 \bext Input > 
    Languages and sett\1ings.
    TIP\f:
    •     I\bnore double letter\&s – XT9 Text Input will fi\bure\& 
    those out for you a\&utomatically.
    •     Lift your fin\ber at t\&he end of the word.\& A space is 
    added automatically \&when you be\bin to tr\&ace the 
    next word.

    Choose the touch in\&put settin\bs by pres\&sin\b the Menu 
    Key > Settings > Language & keyboard.
    In the Keyboard settings section, you can choose the\& 
    settin\bs for Android keyboard and XT9.

    Messaging
    Your SMS (text messa\b\&e) and MMS (multimed\&ia 
    messa\bin\b service) a\&re combined into on\&e menu in 
    Home Key > 
     > Messaging.
    T\be Message Box
    Instead of an inbox and outbox, your phone or\baniz\&es 
    all messa\bes you se\&nt and received int\&o one box, where 
    messa\bes exchan\bed w\&ith the same party a\&re \brouped 
    into a messa\be threa\&d on the Messa\bin\b S\&creen. You 
    can tap a messa\be th\&read to see the con\&versations you 
    have had with someo\&ne.
    Messa\be threads are\& sorted in chronolo\&\bical order with 
    the latest one on to\&p.
    \fending a Message
    1. Press the Home Key >  > Messaging.
    2.  Tap New message or Menu Key > Compose.
    3.    Enter the recipient\fs number or name. As you type, 
    matchin\b contacts wil\&l appear. Tap a su\b\bested 
    contact to add as a \&recipient.
    4.  Tap \bype to compose and type your mess\&a\be.
      •   Press the Menu Key to insert Quick Text, 
    si\bnature, smiley, or contact.
      •   If you are sendin\b \&an MMS, press the Menu Key 
    to attach pictures, videos, audio, or slideshows.
    5.  Tap Send to send your messa\&\be.
    NOTe: Add an attachment to \&the text messa\be 
    and it will be conv\&erted into an MMS a\&utomatically. 
    Likewise if you remove\& all attachments fro\&m an MMS, 
    it\fll automatically b\&ecome a text messa\be.
    C\banging Message \fe\Gttings
    The phone\fs messa\be settin\bs ar\&e pre-confi\bured for\& 
    you to use immediate\&ly. To chan\be them, press the 
    Menu Key > Settings from the Messa\bin\b \&Screen. 
    Storage settings:
    Delete old message\1s: Delete old messa\bes\& when 
    your stora\be limits are reach\&ed.
    \bext message limit:\1 Set the maximum numb\&er of text 
    messa\bes allowed in\& a sin\ble thread.
    Multimedia message\1 limit: Set the maximum 
    number of multimedia\& messa\bes allowed i\&n a sin\ble 
    thread.
    \bext message (SMS) s\:ettings: 
    Manage SIM card messages: Mana\be the messa\bes\& 
    saved on your SIM \&card.
    Service Center: Enables you to view \&and edit the 
    service center numb\&er. 
    Multimedia message\: (MMS) settings: 
    Tap the Auto-retrieve check box to automatically 
    download MMS messa\b\&es.
