6. Select the User Clients check box to install Amanda Messenger and Amanda Dialer.
7. Click Next>.
The Select Program Group dialog box appears.
8. Use the default group (Amanda) or type a new group name in the text box.
9. Click Finish.
The Finish the Installation dialog box appears.

Installing Amanda Unified Messenger
Amanda Unified Messenger runs on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, or 
computers running Outlook.

3. If you are installing Amanda Unified Messaging for the first time or adding an addi-
tional Amanda server, click Yes.
If you are reinstalling, click No.
If you are adding an additional mailbox for the same server, you do not need to run 
the installation program—unless you want the additional mailbox to have its own 
address book—in which case, you click Yes here.

5. Type your security code then click Next>.
The Remember Security Code dialog box appears.
6. Do one of the following:
 If you want to enter your password every time you log on to your mail applica-
tion, click No.
 If you want Amanda Unified Messaging folders to open automatically without 
password entry, click Yes.
The Enter Amanda Server Name dialog box appears.
7. Type the name of your Amanda server then click Next>.

5. (Optional) Select the Remember Security Code check box to log in automatically 
without having to type your security code.
6. Select the Network Settings tab.
7. Type the server name in the Server Name text box.
If your network protocol is TCP/IP, the port number is displayed in the Port Number 
box.
If your network protocol is NetBIOS/NetBEUI, type the LANA number (1 or 0) in 
the LANA Number text box.

3. Type the name of the printer (or use the default Amanda Fax Service Printer).
4. Click Next>.
The Start Menu Group dialog box defaults to Amanda Fax 32.
5. Use this group or type in a new group.

The next dialog reports a successful installation.
7. Click OK.
8. If you see the following Warning message, reboot your system:
In Windows NT or 2000
You must be logged in as an administrator.
To install Amanda Fax in Windows NT or 2000:
1. When Amanda server was installed, the installation program was placed in a shared 
folder on the server. From the Amanda server, run Clients\NTFaxInstall.exe.

The introductory dialog box appears.
2. Click Next>.
The Warning dialog box reminds you that you must be an administrator.
3. Click OK.
The Installation Folder dialog box appears.

4. Use this folder or browse for another.
5. Click Next>.
The Name of Printer dialog box appears.
6. Type the name of the printer (or use the default Amanda Fax Service Printer).
7. Click Next>.

Installing the 16-bit Amanda Fax
Install Amanda Fax only after you have installed the Amanda Messenger and Amanda 
Dialer software. That installation process automatically installs the SENDFAX.EXE file 
that is required by Amanda Fax.

To install Amanda Fax in Windows 3.11:
1. From Program Manager’s Main group, double-click the Control Panel icon.
The Control Panel group appears.
