At the bottom o f t he drive cage,  locate t he met al base corresponding t o t he s torage 
device  inserted in the  previous  step  and  secure  it  ont o the  drive  cage.
 
W hen  you f inished,  install the drive  cage  now populat ed with the  devices  back 
int o the Storage  Rack.

Installing Additional Bridge B oard s on M ounting Poles 
Ins ide th e S to rag e Rack 
S eparat e P M  or  HPM  from  bracket  b y unscrewing  4 s crews  on the  PC B.  Inst all 
t he P M or  HPM  ont o the  des ired  mount ing pole.
Installing  Bridge B oard s ont o Back P an el
Remove  punch outs f rom t he rear  panel  of the Storage  Rack. Using t he included 
screws,  attach  bridge  board onto the  desired  back panel  mount ing locat ion.
Connect  s torage  devices  onto the  internally  mounted PM  or  HPM ,  then  connect  
t he  host  connect ion onto the  rear  mount ed bridge  board.

C onnection
Not e: T he P ort Mult iplier  will only  work  with P ort  Mult iplier  aware  multilane  host 
cont rollers. It is  compatible with mult ilane  host controllers  using the Silicon I mage 
Chip S iI 3124 & Si I3132.
W hen t he port  multiplier  (P M)  is connected t o the  mult ilane  host controller  with 
S iI 3124  or SiI 3132 c hip, in the  RAID  BIOS o f the host cont roller, you  will only  see 
one  drive  and that is the  driv e c onnect ed to S ATA  port  1 on t he P ort Mult iplier .
A ll S ATA  driv es connected t o the P M will s how in the S ATARAID5  Array  Manager .

Connecting  th e Power  Cable a nd  RAI D Rack  to  th e  
C om puter
a.  Connect the  power cord provided f rom the wall  outlet to  the  back  of the  rack.
b .  Make sure the power  is  off  (power  LE D  light should  be off ) .
c .  Connect the RAID Rack to the computer using either the USB or eSATA 
              cable.
Power Supply
T his  power  supply  provides  500W of 
power . Before t urning  on the main 
swit ch locat ed on t he front  panel  of 
t he  storage  rack, turn  on the power 
swit ch of the  power  supply.
