CRUISE CONTROL
Vacuum Controlled Systems
The vacuum controlled cruise control system consists of the following components: Control switches
· 
Servo (throttle actuator)
· 
Speed sensor
· 
Clutch switch (manual transmissions)

Stoplamp switch
· 
Vacuum dump valve
· 
Amplifier assembly
· 
The throttle actuator is mounted in the engine compartment and is connected to the throttle linkage with an
actuator cable. The speed control amplifier regulates the throttle actuator to keep the requested speed. When...

The throttle actuator/control unit is mounted in the engine compartment and is connected to the throttle
linkage with an actuator cable. The control unit regulates the throttle actuator to keep the requested speed.
When the brake pedal is depressed, an electrical signal from the stoplamp and deactivator switches return the
system to stand-by mode. This system operates independently of engine vacuum, therefore no vacuum lines
are required.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
1. 
On 1991-92 models, remove the finish panel from around the radio assembly.

To remove the radio, insert the removal tool prongs into the release clip access holes (arrows)
Push in approximately 1 inch (25.4mm) to release the retainer clips, then pull straight out to remove
Insert the radio removal tool T87P-19061-A or equivalent, into the radio face.
3. 
Press in 1 inch (25.4mm) to release the retaining clips, then using the tool as handles, pull the radio
out of the instrument panel.

Disconnect the antenna ...
... and the electrical wire harness plugs from the back of the radio
Disconnect the antenna and wiring connectors from the radio.
5. 
To install: Connect the wiring and slide the radio into the instrument panel. Ensure that the rear mounting
bracket is engaged on the mounting track in the panel.
6. 
If removed, install the finish panel
7. 
Connect the battery cable.
8. 
Check the operation of the radio.

Door Mounted Speakers
Remove the door trim panel.
1. 
Remove the four speaker attaching screws.
2. 
Pull the speaker out from the door frame and disconnect the wire harness plug.
3. 
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
4. 
To remove a door mounted speaker, first remove the door trim panel, then the four speaker attaching screws
Pull out gently on the speaker and disconnect the wire harness plug from it
Body Mounted Rear Speakers
On Ranger models, remove the four speaker grille...

WINDSHIELD WIPERS
Wiper Arm And Blade
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Front Wipers Raise the blade end of the arm off of the windshield.
1. 
Move the slide latch away from the pivot shaft. The wiper arm can now be removed from the shaft
without the use of any tools.
2. 
While holding the wiper arm off of the windshield, slide the latch out and away from the pivot shaft ...
... then lift it straight up and off of the shaft to remove

Be sure the wipers are in the parked position, and the blade assembly...
