Example:
If “M” is “32.10 mm” and “P” is “+5”, then
T3 = 32.10 – 31.50 – (+5)/100 mm
= 0.60 – 0.05 mm = 0.55 mm
If “M” is “32.10 mm” and “P” is “–5”, then
T3 = 32.10 – 31.50 – (–5)/100 mm
= 0.60 + 0.05 mm = 0.65 mm
5. Select the pinion shim(s) (T3) as follows.
Example:
If “T3” is “0.59 mm”, then the pinion shim is
0.60 mm.
If “T3” is “0.64 mm”, then the pinion shim is
0.65 mm.
