Windmere Select Edition Electric Can CO9510 User Manual

							This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. Place it on a level
surface, and insert plug into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary
household current). Do not use any other type of outlet.
TO USE CAN OPENER
1. Hook magnet in position, as shown in diagram A.
2. Raise lever, place can under the guide bar and against the 
geared wheel. (See diagrams B and C to identify parts.)
3. Press down on lever to pierce lid of can. This automatically 
starts the cutting action. The can opener will continue to cut 
until the lid is completely severed from the can.
4. Grasp the can, then raise the lever to release the can.
5. Carefully slide the lid away from the magnet, using caution 
to avoid being injured by the sharp edge of the lid.
6. Extra-tall cans may be cut by placing the opener at the edge 
of the counter. The base of the can opener is contoured to 
allow the can to extend below the base of the opener and 
below the countertop.
HOW TO USE
CARE AND CLEANING
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user
serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Refer it to
qualified personnel if servicing is needed.
TO CLEAN: Unplug unit from electrical outlet. To remove lever, hold
can opener facing you. Lift the lever upward and gently pull toward
you. Wash lever in warm, soapy water and wipe outside surfaces
of unit with a damp cloth.
To replace the lever, hold the can opener facing you with the lever
in the lifted position, and put the long pivot into the pivot hole. At
the same time the guide bar will align with the slot on the lever
(see diagram C). Be sure to push completely into pivot hole. Then
let lever drop back onto top of can opener. If you do not push lever
completely into hole, it will not drop back onto top of opener.
TO STORE:Unplug can opener and store in its box or in a dry place.
Store the cord loosely coiled; never wrap it tightly around the unit.
Do not put any stress on cord where it enters the appliance as it
may cause the cord to fray and possibly break.

COMO USAR EL ABRIDOR DE LATAS
1. Enganche el im‡n en su posici—n, como se ilustra en el

2. Levante la palanca, coloque la lata debajo de la barra de gu’a

3. Presione hacia abajo la palanca para perforar la tapa de la lata.

continuar‡ cortando hasta que la tapa quede completamente 
separada de la lata.
4. Sujete la lata, luego levante la palanca para soltar la lata.
5. Cuidadosamente deslice la tapa hacia afuera del im‡n, teniendo 
mucha precauci—n para evitar cortarse con el filo de la lata.
6. Las latas extra grandes pueden ser cortadas colocando el 
abridor en el filo del mostrador. La base del abridor de latas es 
contorneada para permitir que la lata se extienda por debajo de 
la base del abridor y debajo del mostrador.
Este artefacto requiere poco mantenimiento. No contiene piezas
que puedan ser reparadas por el usuario. No trate de repararlo
usted mismo. Rem’talo a personal calificado si necesita
reparaci—n.
PARA LIMPIAR:Desenchufe la unidad. Para retirar la palanca,
sostenga el abridor de latas de cara a usted. Levante la palanca
hacia arriba y suavemente hale hacia usted. Lave la palanca en
agua tibia jabonosa y limpie la superficie externa de la unidad con
un pa–o hœmedo.
Para volver a colocar la palanca, sostenga el abridor de latas de
cara hacia usted con la palanca levantada y coloque el eje dentro
del agujero. Al mismo tiempo la barra de gu’a se alinear‡ con la
ranura de la palanca (ver diagrama C). Asegœrese de empujar
completamente el eje dentro del agujero. Luego deje caer la
palanca hacia la parte superior del abridor. Si usted no empuja la
palanca completamente en el agujero, Žsta no caer‡ sobre la
parte superior del abridor. 
PARA GUARDAR:Desenchufe la unidad y gu‡rdela en su caja o
en un lugar seco. Guarde el cord—n enrollado suavemente; nunca
enrolle el cord—n ajustadamente a la unidad. No ponga presi—n al
cord—n donde Žste entra al artefacto, ya que Žsto podr’a causar el
desgaste del cord—n y su posible rotura.

							When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
nREAD ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
nTo protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse in water
or other liquid.
nClose supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by
or near children.
nUnplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off 
parts, and before cleaning.
nAvoid contact with moving parts.
nDo not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after 
the appliance malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any 
manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility 
for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
nThe use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance 
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
nDo not use outdoors.
nDo not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch 
hot surfaces.
nDo not open pressurized (aerosol-type) cans.
nDo not open cans of flammable liquids such as lighter fluids.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE (MEXICO & USA) POLARIZED PLUG: Polarized plugs (one prong wider than the other), are used to reduce
the risk of electric shock. When cable has this type of plug, it only
adjusts to a polarized outlet. If the plug does not adjust to the polarized
outlet, turn it over. If it still does not adjust, seek the help of a qualified
electrician to install an appropriate polarized outlet. Under no
circumstances try to modify or change the plug.
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion 
marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be 
serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to our Service 
Department or to an authorized service representative. 
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place
undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause 
it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY
DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS
WORKING ENTIRELY.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer
or its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a
hazard.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
To ensure continued efficient performance by this can opener, keep the
cutting blade clean.
Can opener should be turned off for one minute after operating

NOTA (MEXICO Y EE.UU.) ENCHUFE POLARIZADO: Se utilizan enchufes polarizados (con un contacto m‡s ancho que el

tiene este tipo de enchufe, se ajusta œnicamente a un contacto
polarizado. Si el enchufe no se ajusta en su contacto, inviŽrtalo. Si aœn
as’ no se ajusta, busque la ayuda de un electricista calificado para que
instale un contacto polarizado apropiado. Por ningœn motivo trate de
modificar o hacerle cambios al enchufe.
