    NOTE:Inspectthevalvetorockerarmclearancewitha 
    feelergaugeafterthefirst10hoursofoperation 
    andthenevery25hoursofoperationthereafter. 
    •Theenginemustbecoldwhencheckingoradjusting 
    thevalveclearance. 
    •Thistaskshouldbeperformedinside,inaclean,dust 
    freearea.

    Removethemufflercoverbypressingdownonthe 
    cornerwithaflatbladescrewdriver(Fig.36).Slide 
    thenotchesonthesidesofthemufflercoverover 
    thetabsontheenginecoverandremove 3.Removethescrewbehindtheenginecover(Fig.38).

    tabsontheenginecoverandsnapintoplace

    fromthecylinderbeforeattemptingtostartthe 
    trimmerafterstorage. 
    4.Changetheoil.SeeChangingtheOil,Pg.17. 
    DisposeoftheoldoilinaccordancetoFederal,

    5.Thoroughlycleantheunitandinspectforanyloose
