If the disc is not seated properly when the disc tray is closed, the disc might
be damaged. Also, the disc tray might not open fully when you press the
eject button.
Removing discs
To remove the disc, follow the steps as detailed below:
Do not press the eject button while the computer is accessing the optical disc drive. Wait for the optical disc drive indicator to go out before you openthe disc tray. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, wait
for it to stop before you remove it.

Writable discsThis section describes the types of writable discs. Check the specificationsof your drive to see the types of discs it can write. Use TOSHIBA Disc Creator to write compact discs.
CDs
CD-R discs can be written only once. The recorded data cannot be
erased or changed.
CD-RW discs including multi speed CD-RW discs, high-speed CD-RW
discs and ultra-speed CD-RW discs can be recorded more than once.
DVDs
DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL discs can be written only

When writing or rewriting
Please observe the following points while you write or rewrite data to a
media:
Always copy data from the hard disk drive to the optical media - do not
use the cut-and-paste function as the original data will be lost if there
is a write error.
Do not perform any of the following actions:
Change users in the Operating Systems.
Operate the computer for any other function, including such tasks as using a mouse...

Do not use the "Disc Backup" function of TOSHIBA Disc Creator in
order to copy DVD Video or DVD-ROM material that has copyright protection.
DVD-RAM discs cannot be backed up using the "Disc Backup"
function of TOSHIBA Disc Creator.
You cannot back up CD-ROM, CD-R or CD-RW media to DVD-R,
DVD-R DL or DVD-RW media using the "Disc Backup" function of TOSHIBA Disc Creator.
You cannot back up CD-ROM, CD-R or CD-RW media to DVD+R,
