1. Only serial printers that conform to EIA 
M-232 signaling requirements can be 
connected to PDIU-DS units. 
2. In rare applications, printers can be con- 
nected to PDIU-Dls. Refer to the printer’s 
installation instructions.

and determine if the printer operates as a DCE 
or DTE device:
