    ImageDirector
    Features
Using ImageDirector, you can adjust the
projector’s gamma value to your satisfaction
from a computer connected to the projector.
ImageDirector Ver.2 enables you to adjust
the luminance curve of an input signal
differently from the previous version of
    ImageDirector.
The projector can share adjustments with
    other projectors because ImageDirector
Ver.2.0 adjusts the curve without changing
the preset gamma value on each projector.
You can then save this adjusted value to
    your computer.
Refer to the ReadMe.txt and the online help
on the supplied CD-ROM for ImageDirector
    operating instructions.

    About ventilation holes
The projector has ventilation holes (intake
    and exhaust) as shown below.
    Unsuitable installation
Do not install the projector in the following
    situations. These installations may cause
malfunction or damage to the projector.
    Poorly ventilated areas

    • Allow adequate air circulation to prevent
inter nal heat buildup. Do not place the
projector on surfaces or near materials that
may block the ventilation holes. Inter nal
heat buildup due to blockage of the
ventilation holes may cause a malfunction.
    Notes for installation
    • Leave a space of more than 20 cm (7 7/8
inches) from the rear panel and 30 cm (11 7/8 inches) from other surfaces.

    • Be careful that the ventilation holes do not
inhale tiny objects such as pieces of paper.
    • If you put something behind the projector,
where ventilation holes are located, the
exhaust may be circulated into the
projector through the ventilation holes at
the bottom, causing the inter nal
temperature to rise, which may cause a
malfunction. Install the projector so that
    the exhaust is not blocked.
    • Do not install the projector in a confined
    space.
    Hot and humid areas
Avoid installing the projector in a location
where the temperature or humidity is very
high, or the temperature is very low.
If you install the projector on the ceiling,
keep the temperature near the intake
ventilation holes under 35 ºC (95 ºF).
    IntakeExhaust
Do not block the part of the projector.
    Very dusty areas
Avoid installing the projector in a location
where there is a lot of dust; otherwise, the
air filter will clog. The dust blocking the air
through the filter may cause the inter nal heat
level of the projector to rise. Periodically
replace the filter with a new one.
    Use at high altitudes
When using the projector at an altitude of
1,500 m or higher, tur n on “High Altitude
Mode” in the MENU SETTING menu. Failing
to set this mode when using the projector at
high altitudes could have adverse effects,
such as reducing the reliability of certain
    components.
    Improper use
Do not do any of the following.
Standing the projector on its side
Avoid using the projector standing on its
side. This may cause a malfunction.
    Tilting front/rear and right/left

Avoid using the projector tilted at an angle of
more than 20 degrees. Do not install the
projector anywhere other than on a level
surface or on the ceiling. Improper
installation of the projector may cause a
    malfunction.
    Blocking the ventilation holes
Avoid using something that covers over the
ventilation holes; otherwise, inter nal heat
may rise and cause a malfunction.

    To correct trapezoidal distortion
When the projected image is a trapezoid,
    change the projector's position/height by
    moving the adjusters.
For details on how to use the adjusters, see
    page 19.
If the image is still a trapezoid, correct it
using “V Keystone” in the INSTALL SETTING
menu. For details on “V Keystone,” see page
    49.
Set the value to a negative number.
