You can listen to a radio station either by
selecting a preset station, or by manually tuning
in the station.

Using the Radio Data
System (RDS)
(European model only)
What is the Radio Data
System?
Radio Data System (RDS) is a broadcasting
service that allows radio stations to send
additional information along with the regular
program signal. RDS is available only on FM
stations.*
NoteRDS may not work properly if the station you are
tuned in is not transmitting the RDS signal properly
or if the signal is weak.
*Not all FM stations provide RDS service, nor do
they provide the same types of services. If...

NoteWhen you select or play a Super Audio CD;
–The sound effects are automatically turned off
(except for the equalization).
–The sound effect or the personal file cannot be
selected. You cannot store the personal file.

EX
Cinema Studio EX is ideal for enjoying the
movie software encoded with multi channel
format, such as the Dolby Digital DVD. This
mode reproduces the sound characteristics of
Sony Pictures Entertainment’s studios.
xC.STUDIO EX A (Cinema Studio EX A)
Reproduces the sound characteristics of the
Sony Pictures Entertainment “Cary Grant
Theater” cinema production studio. This is a

Adjusting the sound
effects
Before operation, first select the sound effect
you want for your basic sound.
1Press DSP EDIT on the remote.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
DSP EDIT* (to adjust DSP) t EQ EDIT
(to adjust equalizer)
*This menu does not appear depending on the
audio effect.
2Use the digipad to adjust the
parameters.
The parameter is adjusted according to the
curve your finger slides on the digipad.
